Hi Sean,
Good on you sticking with it, long time coming.
Cant wait to see it wrapped.
Is the roll cage/padded bars thing only for the construction, i.e will that come out upon completion? Or is that a permanent fixture?
In one of the pics there it looks like the rear nearside wheel arch is rubbing the wheel, or at least is very close to it. But then it kind of looks like the arch isnt quite rounded off, so maybe its just the camera angle?
Who is doing the wrapping for you?

@ R1_Pete - The roll cage is staging just getting different padding for it its permanent fixture i'm afraid. The suspension is dropped to the ground for security reasons the car has to be risen up when complete. Myself and another chap that wraps cars are doing the wrapping.
@ Silverlux - no sign yet have been working on the civic interior just waiting on the gearbox for it
Nothing ever goes right

I would like to point out a slight concern about the TOM'S ecu. If it was tuned for Japanese higher octane fuel, you could end up with knock when using standard pump fuel. Just a thought.

Sometimes that happens if the car is standing up for a while and because ireland has very moist air im guessing it got into the engine and mixed with the oil which gave the oil that white colour, also you probably didnt drive it much just pulled it out of the garage and back in which isnt enough time to get the water to eveporate and just caused more condensation because of temp difference, it happened to nearly all the cars i had but in the summer because of big difference in temperature at day and night, if u take off ur oil cap in the summer u will see that color oil on the cap, also the oil was probably in there for too long give that poor engine an oil change lol
I dont think that white oil is something to be worried about, the car just needs to be driven.
Did you try pour a capfull of oil into each cylinder and check compression again?
If the compression goes up then it must be the piston rings.

id say headgasket bud all that gunk would be caused from the water forced to mix with the oil shouldnt be a big job for you thou

Maybe its the valves then...
Would you not buy that rev3 one for 100 with the ringland problem since ur gonna be taking the engine apart anyway?

I think i saw someone here sell a rev2 stock gasket but ur better off get some thicker aftermarket one on ebay and you should be safe to run 1bar,
also ebay would be good for bolts too unless they are the same as a rev2 na in that case i may have some lying around.
Im only after getting my exedy clutch from this lad for 330 delivered, delivery was quick: Shane 0876633761.
Try ebay or toyota for water pump,
And any car parts shop should be able to get ya a timing belt, also u may need the idle and tensioner bearing for that belt. the idle bearing is exactly the same as the one on the tensioner so if ur buying one buy the 2 idle ones because the one on the tensioner is about 70yoyo and the idle one is about 30.
Ive no idea why price is so different for 2 the same bearings i always get the one for 30 and use it for the tensioner aswel.
Are the pistons and cylinder walls good? were u losing compression just because of the blown gasket?
A friend the other week told me Percision engineering place in enfield skims the head for E60
Good luck, at least the engine will be 100% after this.
