I havnt tried many yet but i dont think there is a point without checking with the people who actually have insured there mr2's I cannot get classic insurance or even any kind of policy with limited milage with axa until i am 25.. they wont touch me on the car on a normal policy unless im "30 with 4 years no claims". Liberty (quinn)wouldnt quote me either..

Ive tried tried finding a number for campion & sparrow but they seem to have split into seperate companies..

Anyone know if there is a company that doesnt discriminate against the fact im under 25 for classic insurance?? the car is only going to be used once a week maybe twice for a spin to tesco's or when we go out (if we find a baby sitter ) not like my other car which i do 1000+ miles per week in..

I was 23 when I first got my turbo.Just past my test driving around on r plates with a bird who was in the same boat but 21. 12k miles a year £2100 for the first year with Quinn direct. And that living in a toilet and parked on the street.

I got insured with Quinn at 21 . . it took ages do.... i was trying the online quotes for months and being told i had to ring them that they couldn give me an online quote.... until one day they quoted me €800 (fully comp) was delighted everyone else refused me got the same not till 25 with any1 I rang! So i suggest keep tryin that. but now with Quinn been liberty i dont know wat there like.

Try Alex hes a quinn direct broker. Im 21 and insured for about 1600, 3rd party fire,theft.
Its not classic but you could ask him about it.
Tell him Max gave ya the number, I got insured there with him about a month ago in my mr2.

This should help! If you already have a policy with Quinn you can just transfer the car on the policy. I'm 23 and that's how I managed it. However ***It is important that you tell them that you have ALREADY bought the car** because if you just phone looking for a quote they'll say they don't insure that car. They have quoted me on RX8s and FTO GPvRs this way. Was only an extra €50 for me till May (from last week) on top of my original policy on an E46 BMW 318ci. Good luck!

thats strange.i got my mr2 turbo when i was 21 and insured it with quinn no hassle.was only 1100 aswell.im 25 now and can get insurance for under 600 on one with them.as said above just tell them u bought the car that'l work.

They wouldn't insure me on the non-turbo ones though. Make sure you are insuring the right model, because some of the models you will be refused on

I was with quinn when i bought my first mr2, told me they didn't insure mr2 but when i told them i had already bought it they transferred my policy (from a 1.5 civic) and only charged about €80 more for about 6 months.
They then sent a renewal and the price was great, cant remember how much now as it was years ago.

The best thing to do would be insure a car for a few weeks, pay by DD then tell them you bought a new car (the mr2), then you just have to hope they don't screw you on the premium increase.

its the non turbo that i have.. that seems to be the problem? they asked on the phone what make and model is the car (even after giving them my reg) i said toyota mr2.. and thats all i could get out before she said sorry blah blah...

im 23 and couldnt get a quote anywhere. i wz already insured wit axa on my pug206 so i literly had 2 go in2 de office n talk wit de manager 2 transfer de policy (dey refused me over de fone). i had already bought the car at this stage aswel. wen my renewal date came up dey quoted me 900 (dey ave 2 quote u den). i got cheaper insurance wit campion in portlaoise 0578622100. fully comp only 700. dont tink aywher will insure you under classic until 25+. ur better off callin in2 de offices instead of ringin, better results face 2 face. hope dis helps.

Campbell Autoline in the north insured my 94 for €250 fully comp. I believe Brophys in portlaoise do third party only for €150.
Do a search for Campbell's here I put their number up before.

No I'm in Leinster myself. It's all legit, just need to show them your policy for your daily driver.
