What are peoples thoughts on rev5 Turbo prices atm?

Seem to vary from 2k to 6kstg!!!

Anyone bought a rev5 turbo recently and care to share price?

It's only worth what someones willing to pay for it.
IMO that car won't sell at that money, I've seen seriously modified ones sell for a few thousand less than that just because of the way the market is atm.
I find that 2's are particularly hard to shift over here, compared to those that are living in the UK due to it being a smaller market and also the very nature of selling an unpractical sports car that's not "economical".
Most people are only after boring, mundane diesel cars that will take them from A to B in reasonable comfort so will pay ridiculous money for abused German tat with hundreds of thousands of miles on them.
I know I'm beginning to rant but car culture here pisses me right off.

Depending what's on the car (mods etc) and how clean it is/how many miles I'd say £3k-4k is a realistic asking price. If its a real stand out car you might have no problem selling, I've seen this happen a few times on the forums if its an average car in reasonable condition I'd say you would struggle to see the top end of the asking price above.

..I know each to their own and all.. but the front bumper, lights, wheels just don't do it for me there.

Having said that mr2s are going for bargain money at the moment, some pretty clean (NA) ones going for 1500.

....not too many turbos on sale these days.

It had one owner in japan and has a full toyota history from japan until i imported it..
Realistically i asked this question because of insurance renewal....
I reckon to import a rev5 99(sept) Turbo Tbar from Japan woudl probably cost me 4000, but realistically its barely worth 3000euro atm...

I didnt have any plans to ever sell it, but in the last few months i have thought about it....Maybe like Spanky...
I still love it, for me its the best mid-engined rwd power/Euro fun u can get....
Still the 2 seater which was deadly for years is now tiring as i get older..

I always wanted an MR2 in that colour, love the Tom's kit ... but the wheels are a let down. I have those quad front lights on mine ... I think that they make it a bit more modern looking

Ah I was on about the cosmos turbo in the link you attached.... yours is stunning!

That's a sweet looking motor B4ss, my first ever mr2 was red, they look the business when polished up properly. I suppose they are harder to live with when you get older, I had MR2's many years (15 at a guess) ago and then bought BMW coupes. I bought an MR2 about again 2 years ago again ... just for a bit of fun, and now I just love it for nipping around town at the weekend. Could not live with it everyday though ... the noise and it's love of veering left every time that it sees a Statoil or Texaco sign!!

I am not a fan of red mr2s, i searched and searched for a cosmos rev5 or black....
I had my car beside Eringobragh's and his looks animal in the Cosmos in comparison

My car sold for its asking price at £3k. That was a '95 turbo in similar standard and with similar spec to the one being offered.

TBH, I don't think the year makes too much difference. After all it is either 14 or 18 years old ..... both are old cars.

I would think that £4k would be an absolute top price and for that I would want it sitting on my drive i.e. no delivery cost.

In terms of mods, I have seen modified cars go for less than non modified. Only those that are sensibly modified can ever add money but even then, it is a small fraction of the modification cost.

I personally think the price of MK2 MR2s is about right all things considered. They similarly priced to cars which were more expensive when first sold in the naughty 90's

I think 3k is a decent price - I think MR2s are priced right atm too

I've had a few black ones .. including a soon to be "for sale" rev2 turbo. I didn't really like the first red one that I had, I suppose when it is your daily driver it is more difficult to keep them looking nice ... especially when compare to metallic paint finishes. Had a Goodwood green one also ... the two tone back and silver has to be one of my favs. I remember back in the early days of the MR2 Club, one of the guys had one, and he put one of those veilside kits ( copy of one I'd say ) on it. I cried when I saw it ... it was horrific.

I suppose the grass is always greener, I was looking for a black mr2 for a while but went for the cosmos as it ticked all the boxes, wouldn't mind a red one though but they can need a bit more tlc.

So whats your plans car wise if you sell the 2?

The year is irrelevant ... that veilside stuff was damn awful back then ... and let's just say that it has not aged well!!
