more than likely not a mistake, happening to everyone! Ring them up and complain and they'll drop it straight away but more than likely will still be dearer than last year!

I was checking out quotes online and was shocked to see the awful price offered by 123.ie. I don't understand what's the deal with these companies and their extremely high prices...

I'm with 123 too for 489e third party extra.
I was surprised with the new price too as last year I paid 420 for the same thing.

Lads you are not insured under the 123 policy. I got Quoted 250 this year by them but if you read the terms and conditions you will see you are not covered if you drive a jap import. So if anything happens you will not be covered.

Got my renewal today on my A4 00 1.6 with 123. Third party 1100e and fully comp 1400e.
I'm 29 with 1yr NCB and over 9 years full EU drivers license , no crashes no nothing. 1 year ago I had my policy with 123 coz they where the only ones that would give me lowest quote on my mr2, it was 380e 3rd party. In start of this year I got my a4 so switched over from mr2 and price was nearly the same. Rang 123 today and asked why prices are up that mad. Their only answer was that prices in general going up this year etc etc. The funniest thing was that my new renewal price includes 10% discount fn mad lads.
Got fully comp quote from AVIVA for 670e. That's so far lowest.
Anyone can advice any other crowd that I should try to ring?

Addition to my insurance sage....
Basically I tried chill insurance online for fun. Best quote they could get me was 1k ish fully comp. Their agent called me later and offered better deal with all bells and whistles for 850 quid. I couldn't go for it as my account is born dry at the moment. The funniest thing follows. I asked them would they know why my insurance with 123 has gone up dramatically? They revealed the truth I believe. They said that last year when 123 took in to account my 3 years no claims named driving experience I got massive discount by their words. Now this year that discount doesn't apply to my policy so it's sort of working out that all that discount is taken off and big insurance fee is added back. I said what about insurance fees etc., they go up as well. They said that's not the main reason for my skyrocketing jump of my insurance.
So if this is true it works out like if I bought half priced table in IKEA one year and came back another year and bought chair I'd end up paying price of table for chair coz discount from table would be converted in real price and added to chairs value .
Well, in this case I can say INSURANCE ROBBERS
I still have few more weeks till renewal date, so if anyone has good broker or insurer in mind post give me a shout

Mate I've tried everyone. I'm on xs direct with chill with 2000 excess. Struggled with the notion on the evening I signed up but since then I've got over it. You can get 2000 if you need it. Policy cost me 650

I'm having a hard time finding insurance for my MR2 at the moment. Called XSDirect but they seem to be changing their policy or running out of business and they won't be sports car friendly anymore...

123.ie, Chill.ie, AXA and Liberty couldn't give me a quote because of the car and my experience. So from the way things are going, I will be forced to sell my MR2 and actually drive what the government/insurance companies want me to.

Try Jack Kinane, Majestic Financial, 087 257 4581.
If your mr2 is 20+ yrs he can sort you out with classic insurance.

Thanks everyone.

My MR2 is a 98, so the classic policy wouldn't work at the moment. However I will call some of these insurance companies to see how lucky I am.

Could anyone tell me the requirements for you to be able to insure your car as a classic? If the classic policy is guaranteed, then I don't see any other option but to buy a 94 MR2 in the future.

Mines a 98 too. I think some places do classic for 15 year old cars, maybe someone can confirm? You may need another car as your daily driver though.

I coudnt find insurance for 91 MR2 until I moved my Focus insurance to AXA.
AXA ask for 266EUR for MR2.

123 dont want to hear of cars over 20 years old and doubled or triple quotation from last year.
We had little claim last year but from 480 to 1200 and 4 years NCB is a lot.
I check 123 for 2 Litre Jaguar X Type for me 4years NCB =2400. another person 4 years Name driving insurance on my policy 2500. 123 is joke since this year for any car insurance.
AXA this year is the best for me and they offer classic insurance too if you have other car insured.

The best with AXA this year they insure me for 3 weeks on other car that I could take to Europe. safe family trip. not cheap but good as temporary for this year.9EUR/day

For MR2 insurance cawd in northen Ireland had quote for classic 366EUR with max 8000miles limit not garaged. thay cover classics in ireland.
