hey everyone wanna get kyb shocks but dont wanna get them without a bit of advice on if anyone knows what there like in an mr2??? thanks.

Had some in my Celica years ago and loved them.
What kind of money are they and are they a whole strut or just inserts?

full struts gettin them for €63 each around €150 delivered not bad for brand new,

I'm not knocking the KYB's because I don't know much about them, but I would recommend Koni shocks. They are supposed to be great for control and comfort along with Eibach springs  . |

There are Koni ones on ebay for sale but they dont list them for the MR2 Turbo. Only for the Non Turbo. Are they much different?

KYB struts are OE on a lot of cars.Had them before and had no trouble.

I can't speak for the Ebay stuff, but I DO know that Koni shocks have been installed on the MR2 Turbo. The best thing to do to satisfy yourself would be to email the Koni UK site.

Cheers for the link Marty, how is your car coming along? I got my Sports cat by courier today. Going to install it on Saturday, weather permitting. Have the brake discs all cleaned up and painted and ready for install too.

I have modified the inlet into the fuel tank. Using the trusty Dremel I got rid of the return pipe because it is slightly too narrow. I will be intalling a -6 AN fitting for the new return pipe & a -6 AN fitting for the second fuel pump. I have removed the wiring too, to be replaced by heavy duty stuff for the two Walbro pumps  .
Good luck with the cat. Take some photos of the discs when you have them installed. |

Sounds like your kept busy dude  I wish i had more time to work on my car, or even a shed with a ramp so i could be out in it these dark evenings doing bits with the 2 instead of being stuck in front of this computer :-0 |

Dont mr2s have konis as standard? They can be picked up on camskill but are considerably more expensive than what you are getting the kybs for.

I fitted KYB shock in the front of my rev1 and they worked well for the 18 months I had it after that. I think the inserts where about £45 each

got my kyb shocks there terrible, turned out to be an inch longer than the original ones, i still put them in and now there catching everywhere, iv ruined my suspension and dunno what to do.  |

Did you buy the wrong part? or did you buy the right part and the vendor sent yout the wrong part?
Is your car turbo or non turbo? Irish or JDM? do you know what rev it is?

There's a difference between the revisions suspension wise (there's a thread about it around here somewhere but I can't find it at the moment..). Rev 1 (1989-1991) has different suspension to Rev 2 - 5 so if you get the wrong bits it can look right but fit wrong if you know what I mean.
Were the kyb's full mcpherson struts or just inserts?
