Sure is mate. Got ourselves a jap box with the lower ratios, was gonna put in a flywheel while we were at it.

I wonder if you could just bring your original flywheel into some cnc shop and get them to cut holes in it, should do the job and may be a lot cheaper.
The only difference between these 2 flywheels is the holes in the light one the left is stock.

You can't just bang holes in it lol it needs to be correctly balanced etc or it will just tear the engine up

I wasn't gonna get the holesaw out! My old forged starlet 4wd had a lightened stock flywheel that took some abuse with drag launches but didn't crack. I might ask a machine shop, see what they could do.

Well obviously you would need to get it balanced after you cut holes in it, im sure you could just get someone to do it with proper equipment.

Buy a lightened one, do not modify the original unit, sorry SPLA but I have that from higher authority than my limited knowledge.

Only place in uk I could find selling one is fensport, looking nearly 300 sterling for one. It's not in the budget for our racing effort. The whole car only cost that!

In my experience lightness is the key. Do that, then brakes, then tyres. Do it in that order and you will knock great cracking out of it.

We've got
yoko a032,
jic magic Coilovers
Yellow stuff pads ,braided hoses, rf600 fluid
Toms rev3 na racing ecu
Custom intake and exhaust
Fully stripped out and lightened probably beyond what's sensible
Race seats and harnesses
For what it is it's pretty nippy round kirkistown. Still constantly pissed off at how over geared the na is. It's really silly when you compare the gearing to a vtec honda

Lol had a sir ek4 before with few engine mods before, while the sir had great gear ratio the mr2 makes it on low rpm, if I were you I'dbe looking at cams to go with your ccustom intake and Ecu !

Have thought about cams but although the na 3sge was extensively used in racing including British touring cars etc there's precious little info about what works for decent midrange as well as top end.
Few guys in Australia called road and track have worked on these for race applications but few others. Fensport lightly tuned the same engine in a celica with mainly just a skimmed head to raise compression and managed 200hp.

iv a friend that owns team nero motorsport in the uk but they deal with high end gt3s ect I can ask him again but as far as he said to me the rev 3 na came with the best head , as in port and polishing will give the least increases compared to other revs but the heads were not as strong as previous revs , I can pass on his number if needs be ill ask him first and see if any of his buddys have major exp with the 3s-ge engine / all Toyotas ect I know the carina race model trd had theres at 300+ but cant find any specs any where

Any info gratefully accepted. One thing about the rev3na is that it does seem to make the horsepower toyota claimed, unlike the 20 valve or beams versions. Gonna add a bit more compression and keep the toms ecu just.
We were out at kirkistown today and the gear ratios are killing us as usual. Out of the acis power zone coming out of corners ruins an otherwise decent package.
It's lightened flywheel and the jap import s54 box next time out for a better ability to rev.

he's looking into a place in ireland that can bore and balance a standard flywheel , he said an after market flywheel are to expensive to get from the uk
edit: theres a place in dublin but they want your crankshaft to balance that so its all synchronised with the fly wheel there web site is www.tridentmnfg.ie ( colm is who you want to talk to )
