Basically I am thinking about "moving" the current fuel filler door and would like to know who could take an angle grinder and cut about two inches around the outside of another fuel filler door ? I also require the bodywork that is covered by the filler door but I don't need the piping.

I am talking about doing this to a MR2 for breaking not my car.

So who can do it and how much ?

something like a dremmel might be cleaner and more accurate than an angle grinder, assuming you can get a strong enough blade.

where are you thinking of moving the filler to? ... passenger side inspection panel??

i think a stainless steel cutting disc on a 4 inch grinder would b good if your worried about cuttin too much with the grinder just mark where you want to cut and drill four holes at the corners and then start cutting use masking tape to help mark where you want to cut.

I need to move the filler over the wheel arch.

Do you know of any body that is breaking a SW20 that could cut that part out ?

I'm going to do something different than originally planned. It should be interesting to see if I manage to pull it off. I have never seen this mod done on a MR2, so I'm not sure about it. What am I talking about ? Not telling just yet incase it doesn't work out for me.

This would be an easy enough job its the cutting out that requires the skill i had a move the whole petrol pipe on my lambo replica over to the drivers side of the car and its a nightmare getting the fuel pipe out took hours i made new fuel pipes there were a pain but got there in the end.Shouldnt coat too much to make

I need a piece of bodywork (same curvature) from the opposite side of a MR2 where there is no filler door. Then remove the filler door on my MR2 and use the cut out piece and weld it over the hole where the filler door was. That way uses less filler.

Some of you are probably thinking "why not use filler with the fuel filler door and smooth over ?"

I want it to be a bit more professionally done that's why I don't want to do it that way, there is more of a risk of the filler material cracking .................. But I may be making a lot more work for myself.

Nothing has been done since moving house and having a new baby.

I hope to start back on my MR2 next week. Unfortunately I am going to have to cut corners and get it back on the road. I was hoping to have modded it more before it was on the road.
