Advans all the way remember seeing them on a supra back in the late 90s on a full truck of imports as was the case back then loved them then and they still look great today. Hard to come by i would imagine. Did you get my pm earlier

No panic just my covarage was crap wasnt sure if it sent or not. I recently change from 17s to 16s improvement in comfort is unreal. But very hard to beat the 17s for pure style. If i was dplashing the cash on a big set of wheels like that it would be 17s all the way .

Ah well i have an oppertinity to get a set of 16's so now really confused :/ just afraid they would be too small for the mr2 with the border kei

I went from 17 to 16 and noticed a difference and will stay 16.
but i have seen both sets of wheel in 16 and its the advans for me

Was that on a mr2 ricky or just 16 on a few other cars?

Baz if you can get them in 16s and they arent stupid money go for it. God only know s when a set of 17s will pop up and then you could sell the 16s.
I was lookin at work equips last week and was thinking about it and before i knew it they were gone. Probably just as well as the wifes car need some attention again this week

Ya I am going to try and go see them asap, they have a few scuffs but I will be spraying em in either red or gold anyways so not too worried about that once they are straight and not kerbed

Partly because I hate rotas but to be fair there is a good reason for that. If you got a set of meisters, they have a proper polished lip, so if you ever get any minor nicks or scratches its very easily sorted, whereas your paying quite a bit of money for the rotas and when you nick or scratch them its a complete pain in the ass trying to get them sorted as you have to take the wheel right back to bare metal removing all lacquer and even when you do the metal is cheap shit.
IMO Advans look much better and are of a much higher build quality than the rotas, same goes for meisters.

Hah thanks infamous remember having a bit of a convo on here before about rotas versus genuine jdm. I agree that if you can get the jdm ones at a resonable price it makes sense. However new I think I would find it hard to drop 2/3grand on rims versus the 600e for new rotas especially on irish roads as even forged rims will bend. Also alot of works etc. are cast anyways.

The thing that I hate about Rotas or the people that run em are the ones that put Rays stickers etc on em

Anyways have the oppertunity to try and get both a 16" and 17" advans now I am really confused is the difference in handling really big from 16 to 17?

Will prob be a week or so before i have the chance to get them on the car. Actually looking at a 16" set too so hoping it set those and have some options regarding size.

Hey guys know this has been asked ina few places but still ant get a definite answer!!

Would i be able to fit 225/45/17 on the front of the car matche the either 245 or 255/45/17 on the back? Or would i need to stick to a 215/45/17

I am at the limits on the front with 235 45 R17s ... just about touching the shock .. 1-2 mm clearance .. What more do you need

Oh any thoughts on going red on teh centre spokes of the Advans? Or maybe a pale gold?

255 on the rear will be pretty wide ... I am changing my fronts to 215 and leaving the rears at 235 I have toyo R888's ... would be interesting to compare the two for grip

Ya they are pretty wide alright but I am pretty sure they are going to fit without rubbing/hitting coilovers?! Its reallly hard to get a definite answer.

Is your car on stock suspension and springs with the 235/45 profiles on the front?

The suspension is Ohlin shocks and lowering springs ... Looks same as standard to me ... Turning circle is less with the 235 so I am going back to 215

Ok cool will have to have a look at the tires available in each one really want to try and keep the 45 profile tyres if possible.

Is it due to rubbing in the arches or just the tire radius being larger?

I will have a look tomorrow and find out exactly ... I think its just radius ... but as far as I can remember there is some rubbing also
