Rogue Rev6 lights group buy feeler 13 Years, 3 Months ago

Two questions, I am thinking about getting the Rev6 headlight conversion:
Q1 - anyone know someone who has got these through an NCT test?
Q2 - anyone else interested in a set? I might try to get Rogue to commit to a group buy (they are high quality, but pretty expensive)
Here's some pics:

I think I asked Rogue about a GB a few years back and they weren't interested
But, hey - businesses are doing deals nowadays on anything and everything to get business - he may be interested now !

Hmmmm - tempting because the rev6 lights definitely would look good. But my vision / project is for a SW20 widebody Spider with Border vented bonnet and flushmount lights.

Any other takers? just a show of hands for a buy in the next few months. You don't need the money right now.

You're looking at your toy list for 2010
I'm still thinking about the Celica flushmounts.
Then again - if I stayed with flushmount and went low-rise, I'd love these

Well if we were buying a few sets together maybe we could negotiate a better price. I'm still paying for Xmas but in a few months I could be tempted...
What lights are those Spidey? they look interesting.
And what is the story with hacking up a rare as hens teeth spider to fit Celica lights? I suppose if you were going to cut and shut the body for a cf widebody then it may not be sooooo bad
btw, if you were getting a cf widebody would you go clear cf or painted cf? if it was clear cf you would have to also get cf matt sheeted all over the rest of the car. Would look pretty full on!

I think they were made by some guy from Germany a few years back. I remember seeing them on mr2oc.com and people trying to contact him to make more. They're basically a set of 4x6 headlights - you can pick up a new set for only $30 ! But we'd need RHD versions - the Probe has them. So, cheap to pick up. And you just need the rod shortened then. So, then all you'd need to do is mock up the shroud piece. This is going to be my Spring project Some other guy on mr2oc.com or mr2.com, I think, is currently making his own - I think he is using lights from an older model Tercel.
The CF widebody kit is going to be around £2800, I think Ben said - and FRP only £1200. So, I'd be going with FRP and panting it. Even if I had the cash to get the CF version, I think unpainted would be too much for the styling I'm after.

I am not sure where I seen it but, I remember seeing photos of one of their units and it was rusted pretty badly so might be worth asking the question if that issue has been sorted out prior to buying a heap of them.

I would be really interested in getting a set of these next month or so. The Euro Stg rate at the moment is good, but you are still looking at ~430Euro.
They mention a HID option on the website, but no costs, i would be interested in getting the 2 at the same time, depending on costs.
www.roguemotorsport.co.uk/forms/Product.aspx?ID=298
The other option i would like to explore, is where are Rogue getting these from, they seem to be the only supplier on the planet, as twosrus.com were basically reselling Rogue to US market.
Anyone seen them for sale anywhere else?
Tony

I think they are their own design, so they assemble the parts in to a kit. Probably the housings etc are made for them in the UK..

They said they just add the Hella HID kit to them, which is approx 1000stg, i haven't a clue how much HID kids cost, any ideas Geoff?
Anyway th fog lights will look the wrong colour then too, you would need HID for them too hehe!
I would be happy enough with the quad lights, i asked her about a group buy, worth a shot.

No dice on the group buy discount hehe, basically the only saving would be on postage.
I suppose they have the market cornered on the quad lights.
She also said HIDs would be illegal, and that the projectors in the quad conversions are much brighter than the standard MR2 lights....
thoughts?

I'd like to see them once he has the housing painted black and get clear lights instead of the blue tint.
I'd say that once he does that they'll look well. The only thing you might need to do then is to mould the housing onto the outer plastic trim. But thats something you could do yourself.

+1, the other problem is that the light cut off would go the wrong direction and the glass would not be Euro approved that's the big draw of the Rogue set. If they could do Euro legal/decent ones for that price then I would be in like a shot!
I am surprised at Rogue's pricing, I am not saying I wouldn't buy them, but they're not making it an easy decision....

How does the cut off work ? for the US, the lamp directs the light down and for the right-hand light (from driver seat) it also shines straight head and slightly to the right ? For the left hand, its just straight ahead ?
So, the issue is basically that if we took them as is, they would blind oncoming drivers ?
But surely with 3+ lanes now, both headlights in modern cars should just beam straigt ahead. If so, then what would the difference be for using them in Ireland ?
