@ eringobragh - got most of it into the car. Would definitely have managed everything we actually needed but brought way too much stuff as we weren't sure as this was our first time attempting a trip like this. If it was only for a week you'd definitely have enough room in a 2 for what you need, i was pleasantly surprised
@Cozzy - Being totally honest, i would recommend it to anyone! The mr2 is more than capable of munching up the motorway miles and can be surprisingly economical. We did approx 900k per day on two occasions and i can't believe it never once made me feel tired or cramped and was concerned about the gearing for motorway travel but it was fine. I'd recommend travelling with at least one other vehicle though, as even though nothing went wrong it was comforting to know ye could help each other if needs be
I wouldn't think twice about travelling in Europe again, the fear is well and truly gone. The motorway facilities are brilliant (petrol/food/rest stops/toilets/showers)and make it easy to travel long distances. Driving on the other side of the road comes as second nature in the first few miles and although the tolls in France can seem quite steep at times they are more than worth it, especially if you are splitting them with someone else!

Looks like a great trip! And you have some swingers to be tackling it in an MR2, the potential for things to go wrong would be too great for a lesser man!
I haven't been following your thread, so apologies if you have already posted, but was wondering what size of rear wheel and tyre you are using? I have to say that the car sits very well with whatever they are.
Is that your driveway in the photos from your previous post? Whats the specs on the 1200? My next project is hopefully going to be a Celica TA22 shape from that era, if i can ever find one.

was a great trip, can't wait to go back!
Wheels are:
Front 215/40/17, UniRoyal Rainsport 2 on 7J rim
Rear 235/40/17, Federal 595 on 8J rim
It's my mates driveway, Datsun just had a head rebuild and full respray last year. He has just built a brand new shed so this will be getting some tlc over the winter ,with a possible engine change.
My neighbour actually has one of those celicas, has an sr20det in it, beautiful car!

The rears actually look a bit wider than that, suppose its a good thing, saves on the tyre costs!
The Datsun does look really well, not often you see these type of cars over here, most have rusted away. Some great pics from the Auto Legends show here: www.speedhunters.com/2013/09/auto-legends-1/
