swapped back on my original/winter wheels, first time i've had them on since i lowered the car.....wheel fitment loss..

From this..

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

to this...

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

they don't look as bad as i was expecting but i think the angle of the pic flatters them, they are lost in the arches haha

Plan is to give the Rays a break from the chronic roads and probably a good dose of tlc ;)

(and yes my car does need a wash!)

well lads, finally got a couple of vids from the Euro trip uploaded and working properly...

This one is driving around the Lowes hairpin and through the tunnel on the F1 track in Monte Carlo, probably a little less traffic on race day!

This is just a short clip of one of the tunnels you have to go through when exiting Monaco...

Here's the one of the Nurburgring. Please bear in mind it was after pissing rain and it was lethal slippy as you'll see from the first few corners with even the slightest touch of the Go pedal! Speed picks up after about 5mins when the track dries out though and i get to pass a Porsche after about 12mins so i'm counting it as a victory! I also knew i was popping the question to herself at the end of the lap so wasn't really to keen on binning it, would've kinda spoiled the moment! Also, don't mind the screaming and giggling like a school girl, i'm easily excited Anyway, enough excuses, here it is

brought this for a spin today, it's one of my mates cars

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

lovely solid car to drive but definitely doesn't feel as fast as the mr2. Engine note changes at around 4k and really comes alive, they back "seats" are comical but you could definitely use this as a daily driver. Drove his boxster a while back as well, also a nice car but there's just something about Porsches that leaves me cold :S

Hey mate, managed to convince the mrs to do a trip similar to yours - looks amazing - any chance of a brief breakdown on logistics (ferry, etc) , route, etc would be brilliant.

You mentioned you fit ll your gear in the MR2 -any tips on where to stash thing

Good luck in the wedding competiton

Got home from a small spin today and noticed smoke coming from the engine bay! Turns out my rocker cover gasket finally (completely!) kicked the bucket So only one thing for it...get stuck in!

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Here you can see where the old brittle gasket decided it no longer wanted to be attached all the way around and was squirting oil straight onto the manifold heatshield, thankfully i caught it before the car decided to go up in flames

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

In with the new gasket..

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

All seems to be going well now, hopefully the car is a little less combustible now :P

Also, I spent 12 hours yesterday splitting my wheels and polishing the rims from scratch after them suffering through the winter..

Only have the before pics, will get some of them on the car tomorrow if weather is ok

Well lads, after almost 2 and a half years of being my daily driver, the 2 is going to take a well earned break for the winter. Hopefully returning next March/April after some well deserved tlc. I'm going to miss it but it's for the best

Here we go..time to start doing a few bits in preparation for putting the 2 back on the road..it's been a long few months without it!

Little things first....should I change the the bulbs in the clocks to leds? Here's a comparison between the leds and originals. .in two minds at the moment

_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Leds are so much clearer but not sure will I miss my crappy original ones haha

LED's yes!

I've done it with all my cars and never looked back.

Make sure you use the SMD LED type if you can.
They are much brighter than an older style LED bulb.

I've used this type in my Corolla and MR2
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10x-T10-501-W5W-5-SMD...;hash=item51b59ab431

Also with this type there are no blind spots

I think the smd are the type I tried in the pic above. One of the lads ordered them for me so I'll see when they arrive! He's done the same in all his cars and mentioned hotspots/blindspots so hopefully they'll do the job i'll post up a pic when they're done

I put them in my mk1 and they really sharpen up the display. Go for it! You can always take them out if you don't like.

It'll be nice to get her back on the road for some summer hoonage!

I can't wait to be honest, think i'll aim for start of April to have it back up and running. I've 2 points on my licence (courtesy of the mr2) but they're due to be cleared in May, better collect some more

So I put in the 5 smd LED bulbs tonight, bit of a bright spot around the 20/40km mark but a vast improvement over the old bulbs pic isn't the best but ye get the idea

Tidy placement there of the boost controller. KC+1

The OEM ones can be difficult to source in good condition these days.

I bought one like this and never looked back. Handy for coins and the like.
It's a perfect fit for the SW20. You cans ee picss on page 1 of my photography thread.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-MR2-Celica-Dou...;hash=item35b0686fce

The only thing is that it doesn't fit a SuperMacs/McDonalds size cup.
Bu it does fit the bottles and cans that you buy in a shop.

Thanks lads

I was actually looking at those Rex and i think it was the "close to single Din size" description put me off. I had a look at your thread and it seems to fit well in yours! This is definitely plan B if i can't find an original
