Hi all, just failed Nct yesterday - here is reason

1. Emissions (lambda on high idle not between 0.97 - 1.03 - mine 1.20v
2. Exhaust assembly - leak + advice noise 98.8 db out of 99db limit
3. Modification Report - not present

Questions/solutions:

1.will bite the bullet and get new oxygen senor (nct man said it should pass one exhaust is repaired but leak is way behind the sensor and its tinny so i think sensor is shot anyways

2.I have apexi gt on the car with ATS fitted (active tail silencer) I also have Moongose twin exhaust in good nick in the shed

My question is to anyone with moongoose - do they go trough nct?

3.Modification report is about sterring wheel, went trough NCT 3 times with that wheel (Nardi Personal) so I dont know what changed ?

Report has to be filled by qualified mechanic that fitted the wheel, - so I am arranging the ferry back to Japan i guess ???

Waiting now for Slip to get back to me and we try with stock wheel of his track car but if that wont work where can I go to fill the form, or is it not something that can be done ?

I would try the exhaust for leaks first the measure is way off, was the car fully warmed up before the test. Throwing a new sensor on it won't fix the problem if it is sucking in air somewhere.

Would be worth swapping IMO, mine is an N/A and it passes

The NCT regulations changed on modifications from the OEM / JDM provided items

Does your car have an Airbag (light) system, if not they probably won't accept the steering wheel I have as its got an airbag

1. I drove the car 20 miles icl motorway to the test, was taken on less than 5 min from arrival.

2. I will swap for Moongoose today and make sure there is no leaks - I a have rough idea how to measure the lambda - but any tips on that greatlly welcome

3. Car has airbag light, there is resistor wired in so with nardi sterring it acts as if airbag was there.

Ok scrach that , exhaust has a hole the size of a golf ball - swaping for moongose now, that takes care of lambda and exhaust i hope ,

last thing - sterring wheel and I am out of the woods

Sounds like the steering wheel I have will do the job so, will hunt it out tonight. Something in the back of my mind is saying I gave it to SPLA, but can't be sure.

Nope i remember you brought the steering wheel with you,

Once you fix all holes in the exhaust system you will be grand.

As for steering wheel when i was doing my test in Jan the lad actually told me that i need a cert but since mine was 92 and had no airbags he let me away with it,
Just find a standard steering wheel or look for a garage that can give you the cert.

Fitted Moongoose but leaks badly on a joint cat-mid pipe, ordered gaskets now so hopefuly I will book re-test some time next week, I have time to do it till 8th May 2015 than a full test again.

Well done .. another one on the road for the summer, I have mine booked in for 3rd week in May. I've never seen a test centre empty like that, you must have been there at crazy o clock!
Does yours have an LSD and did they put it on the rollers?

Yes it is LSD E153 trans went fine on that, I used to have one with mad cusco 2-way diff (now in japoharas car) and went trough one Nct as well.

The re-test was at 1:20 PM so durning their lunch brake - so my was first to go in.
