Anyone near Citywest to have a look at an MRS 9 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 3
As above, anyone able to look at an MRS, preferably tomorrow (Friday) evening, in the Citywest area. A friend of mine has viewed it but would like someone with a bit of knowledge of MR2/MRS' to look it over before she decides to try do a deal on the car.

This is the car in question if anyone knows it cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/toyota-mr2/7055508

Having looked at a few imported ones of these I would steer clear from the English ones. I am not about, sorry.

Mines is an English one and the hidden corrosion is intense. But its only a track car so when it breaks we will fix it until it has nothing left to give and move to the next car. I would not accept this from a road car. Has it had its precats removed and got a good service history mainly oil changes. Is there any strange smoke from the engine. If so steer clear.

Try get in contact with Anto300zx (member here) he knows his way around MR2's and is close to city west.

Ask about oil consumption? Older MRS's suffered from poor tolerences in the valve sleeves, the has lead to head trouble if the oil level is not watched. This affected the earlier models. This is also an issue accross all VVTi Toyotas. I am not sure when the issue was fixed.
