Have not seen this before. Very cool, although it looks like they were pitching the MK1 as a hair dressers car (at the time)

oh dear!

it looks like they were advertising it as a hairdressers car alright. they certainly weren't advertising it as a driver's car by showing it with the automatic transmission

Had to give you a KC for that Spanky! Fair play for finding all of those. Bar the last one, which is kinda clever, the rest are utter chedder. So one thing is clear, during the 80's and 90's, Toyota made amazing cars and shite ads! Its a wonder they sold any cars with those ads.

Has anyone ever seen the Aussie ads for the Hilux? Funny. I mean, BUGGER! They deffo made better ads for the Hilux:




They even made a decent Corolla ad once:
