Thanks to whoever carded me on wednesday! Wasn't aware of the club.
Living a childhood dream since I got a mk1 I got last friday. Nothing
beats drivin across the country after midnight with the t-bar out,
freezin cold but wearin a big grin, feeling and hearing the
twin cam behind you. Club looks great

Get in touch with quandry, he might be able to sort you with a few mr2.ie cards that you can stick on the other mr2's you see if you wish

Sure thats only 15 mins up the road. Most Thursdays we have a mini-meet, usually in Blanch. A couple of us would be passing by Clondalkin on the way, so we could pick you up at Joels on the way. Keep an eye on the site for the mini-meet notices. Good to meet up with the guys, see the cars, learn something, have a laugh etc etc.

sweet, prob wont be for a week or two until i get this road legal, tax etc. shud be some craic. tanx again all for the welcome. ill try get pics up asap.

thanks man, she needs quite a bit of work to be real tidy, but gettin there slowly. figured out ya can't just put it tru the wash unless ya like pushin it up a hill, cleanin out a soaked dizzy cap, plugs n leads for half an hour on the side of the road...fun and games! mid engines, its a love hate relationship

over the engine, I to had to learn the hard way.
It`s good to have another real MR2 in the club

That looks really well mate, quite clean paintwork. Yeah I have heard that with the MK1 the engine lid allows water to drip directly on to the dizzy. There was an episode of Wheeler Dealer where they bought one that was "knackered" and the guy was laughing to himself, saying that its a common fault with the MK1, easily fixed. He just did a little DIY dizzy refurb and the car was brand new.

Good tip there from redmk1, just cover the engine/dizzy over. I would not put it through car wash though if I were you. I hate them, nasty things. You really should wash it by hand.

I'm sure it would be possible to incorporate a DIY rain deflector under the hood. Something like the MK2 tubby lids. This could direct any water away from dizzy-doo-da and keep her sweeet
