Hello all. I'm new to the group and MR2 Ownership too. I drive a 92 Rev1 with no power steering and faded to nearly pink body work but love it. The car was left in a garage for 25 months and was going to be scrapped?!? Got it for cheap and is in bad need of a compound and polish but I know there's a good car underneath. The accelerator pedal is a bit sticky and she idles high (1250rpm). I was wondering if this is normal?!?

Welcome to the club. My old rev1 paintwork was like that when i got it. Give it a good clean and buff and polish and it will bring the paint back up ok. It should idle at 1250'ish when cold but it should go back down once the engine has warmed up.

Ya, red's a fecker. I'm attacking the body 2day with T-Cut. She idles at the 1250'ish mark when the engine is warmed up! I'm thinkin idler control valve?!? Suppose it's to be expected from been abandoned for so long.

Get some before and after pics up - I had a red 2 before this one and was same - 15 different shades of red/pink. But once you get it right, a red 2 looks amazing

Welcome Cashy!

Check the hoses that are attached to your inlet manifold. You might have a crack in one that's letting in a bit of air and making it idle higher.

Car looks great.

Welcome to the club, pink is a terrible colour for a two, bad enough they are being called hairdressers cars. Crack on with the elbow grease and throw up some pics, if its the car from you avatar it looks well sweet.

Nice one on the inlet manifold idea. I'll check it once the rain stops Well, its done! Looking red!!! well except ther front bumper which looks a shade brighter but still its red The car in my avatar is a TRD2000GT! I wish mine was one but its a 92 rev 1 or 2. I'll get a few pics up soon.

Just letting ye all know sticky throttle could be a build up of dirt and grime on the butterfly control valve in the inlet manifold?!? (I think thats what the mechanic said) Dunno if that makes sense but now accelerates silky smooth:)
