Replacing bushings Advice Please 6 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 94
Morning Good folk and fellow Mr2 custodians,

I am just about to order A polybush kit, Any recommendations on the best brand?

What else should I be replacing when having this done? Track rod ends and that sort of thing?

I hear the ladies love a polybushed ride

Thanks in advance.

Love good bushes myself Harper.

I have used Prothane from TwoRus in the states no issue with since installing 3 years ago. Road and track use, tightened up the drive nicely.

I had polybush on my Celica years ago and did not find it too bad. Now I am running the TRD hard rubber setup. It's kinda the same IMO.

What about replacing track rods and that sort of thing.

I would love whiteline bars but I don't want to kill my credit card.

Check my sig across >>

Whitelines would be an interesting addition, but I think it puts the car more toward dry driving than wet. Being Ireland I have not upgraded mine for that reason. The trackcar might get them at some stage though and just disconnect them during the rainy days.

I replaced all my rubber bushes years ago for polybushes.

The job is a bit of a pain to do, but worth it.

The car will feel nice and tight, like new. I did not notice any harshness on the road.

I used Powerflex bushings on most of my MR2.

I can help out there Ricky

Good to see you guys still need me Hope you're keeping well Chris, glad to hear the car is still treating you well

The company I got mine from have a few different websites, but you can get them on www.prothanesuspensionparts.com/

Contact them with the spec of your car and they will tell you the correct kit. Dont forget to check the ARB size, as it can be different between revs, editions etc

My full set cost me $155 including shipping. I had a small customs fee (about £20) to pay when I collected them from Parcel Force in P'down.

should have added, the part number I bought was 182009. This is probably the set you'll need if you have the normal 19mm anti rolls.

this is the kit I got ...

www.prothanesuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=182009

.... and still at the same price - they charge about $55 postage

Best thing I ever done to my car, makes an unbelievable difference especially if you go from 15+ year worn out standard kit to these

Nothing bought mate. I do have a look every once in a while but it's nice not having the hassle of a car that you always either need or want to spend money on

I haven't seen you around 'the manor' for a while. Are you still living in one of my suburbs or have you moved on?

Hope all is well with ya, and may even see you down in Pretty Mary's sometime soon for a cold one
