Right my momo keeps cutting out everytime i turn right.

I know its down to an earth strap coming loose.

WHAT HAPPENS: Everytime i go around a corner right the engine cuts out radio goes off and lights if on go off. It all stays off for less then a sec then re-starts up. Has anyone had or come across such a problem.

Does anyone know were all earth straps are in the car so i could clean and retighten all points.

Glenner - that's fantastic news!!!! you got your insurance etc sorted and your back on the road cool.

Sorry don't know about the cut out but it sounds like you might be pinching a wire off your ignition barrel? I would start by taking off the plastic covers around your steering column and looking for anything funky. Another idea - do you have a turbo timer? maybe one of it's wires are getting pinched and causing it to cut the ignition +

That's a fair stab Quandry, most likely cause.

And for plan B, if above is not the issue, investigate the Power Steering motor/pump for similar wire pinching. I think Quandry may have got it one though.

I remember my mate had an old Celica that one day would start/catch and then stop. We looked at EVERYTHING, pulled every wire, check every detail etc etc. In the end it turned out to be the heater fuse - no joke!

Changed the fuse and bingo, car started up just fine. Very weird. Hopefully Toyota changed their funky wiring habits after 1978 and it's not related to your heater fuse or in this case maybe the indicator cut off

Check for a fault code, it might narrow the check down to one or two circuits for you.

amber engine light comes on but then goes out keep hearing a licking sound as if a spark is been made to the rear of the car. see i did have the o/s/r drive shaft off to replace the boots so a mate said it may be down to me not fitting an earth strap but wat ever i done on the car i made sure i done it right.

Ye cheers Quandry. ye she all sorted an running apart from the major cutting out part.

Was out in it tonight and kept cutting out but reailsed the HID's stay on just everything else dies even the turbo timer doesnt kick in to catch it. Going to have to retrac all my steps to find the problem

Will be great to see your 2 at some events. Did you get the PFC and the Berk fitted?

berk is on the car dave has a pic of it me thinks. PFC tucked away on the shelf in my room wanna get new clutch and flywheel before i go fitting as dont think the clutch will take the pressure. O and need to get a boost solined too. bit by bit ill do things but ye no bother ill throw her into shows along side its bro's anytime.

hey got the car sortted in the end was going down to the cap show last week in limerick and my radio was down the side of my seat so as the car was ticking over went to fish it out and the car started to dye. so wen driving were the bump was i hit it and car cut out yes result found problem. So during the week i stripped my car apart and found the one thing i hate Scotch-lock connecting my handbreak wire to my turbo timer cut-off. so stripped off and hard wired it in but light remained on and it wasn doing its job so disconnected all together and there no problems now. so while dash stripped got a PSI boost gauge off a mate and fitted the pillar gauge i got from spidey and she looks the busniess ill try get pics up of all the work done so far k.
