TOPIC: My car

My car 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 59
So guys, i'm on the quest for more power. Would love some feedback.

This is what I have thus far...

AEM TRU Boost Controller
Uprated fuel pump
SARD pressure regulator
Hydra Nemesis ECU

When these are installed, i'm going to take a spin up to Antrim to Momentum Motorsports to get it mapped.

So, what do ye think?

I'd get some sort of uprated cooling - IC or CC etc.

But once you have that, the other mods and a good map will give you a good increase in power

Thanks Spidey. I will look into that. Would you have any links for me to look at? (No intentions of being cheeky or lazy, i'm a novice )

I've heard those eBay kits can be alright if you replace all of the clamps with Mikalor ones. Saying that a chargecooler kit is probably the best option. If you check over on IMOC/TBDev etc theres always a few popping up for sale. I'd have probably gone the chargecooler route if I didn't get a GReddy sidemount.

When I was actually selling it before, it was to raise funds for other items.

But I since saved for those other bits and pieces and so, now I am keeping the chargecooler. I have it 1/3 installed ! Just have to do the rest once I get a few free days at the end of the month

If you want to use A2A in the stock location this one can handle up to 400whp: www.atsracing.net/Parts.mvc/Index/ICBOV

It is at the top end of the price scale for a sidemount however.

Ozzy, I take it you have an uprated intake and exhaust? These do make a difference, however slight some people may argue.

Good intake allows more air in, the A/F sensor reads the higher volume of air and automatically ups the fuel mix, ie, more power.

Also, an exhaust is basically a tuned restrictor / limiter, uprating it can increase the back pressure, again, pushing out a little more more.

Both together could give you a quick and easy 5% power gain, maybe a little more.

With an uprated I/C, you could turn the factory boost up from 0.9 to 1.0 or 1.1 bar.
All of this is pretty straight forward, but quick and easy power without doing major engine work.

DON'T get it mapped until you have all of these things done and you are happy that you are finished modding. If you get it mapped, it will be exactly tuned for the mods you have/ the exact set-up, so changing the set-up will just mess up the mapping. Waste of money as mapping ain't cheap, you don't want to have to do it several times.

There probably a few other bits and pieces you can do too without spending a FORTUNE.
Maybe uprate the plugs and leads. Call out to Couture Auto. They have TRD & NGK plug leads for good money, maybe get iridium plugs.

Good luck!

Swagger,

I have a HKS Induction kit and exhaust system already installed. I will check that place out.

But you're right, getting the car mapped until I have every thing done!

Cool, BTW, Couture do mapping too. They have a huge range of products, check out their products section. They have tons of goodies. After looking there again, ive tempted myself with a few things! HA!

I don't actually Ozzy, but someone here must have. I have yet to get mine mapped, but I reckon ill be going to Couture. Not terribly far from me, plus I called in there a couple of months back and had a long chat the guy. Really nice chap, certainly knows his stuff. I bought a few bits and pieces from them for the car so far, mostly consumables.

I have heard really great things about them, from street to track.
