Well my Mr2 off the road again!
got an oil seal done behind the fly wheel last week as it was seeping oil then the mechanic told me oil was leaking from the head so as of now everything is out of it and out on the ground, getting the head skimmed new head gasket, getting timing belt done and he also told me the distibutor was "retarded" that wasnt set up properly and he is sorting that out, but my question to my fellow 2heads is anything else i should sort while its out,
got new clutch
oil filter
fuel filter
air filter
plugs
drive shaft oil seals
all only recently
oh and christmas is cancelled cause of the cost

The hose from hell would need to be replaced as its a piss easy job with the engine out but its the HOSE FROM HELL with the engine in.
I borrowed this picture from another site but can't remember who to credit with it so sorry to the originator.

I am not sure if this is only on the tubby's, it may not apply to the N/A's

take note of that man.my engine ended up coming out over that stupid hose!and they usually burn out sometime after 100,000 miles.i also had the timing belt, water pump, frost plugs, cambelt tensioner.idler pulley.a lot of seals and gaskets done aswell.might as well while the engines out.not saying there nesessarily need to be done on your engine but ull feel a lot comfortable knowing there done.

Hmm, make sure all the engine ground points are good. That's pretty much all you can do for free.
I have some used bolt on upgrades that might suit you:
* 300hp CT20b hybrid turbo for GenII 3sgte
* Upgraded Sidemount I/C with puller fan and pipes
But I'm guessing you don't want to spend money on that when the rest of the work must be costing you a bomb!

QUANDRY prob sounds like stupid question but why put on those 2 mods your talking about?

There's only one reason: More power!
Edit: More power everywhere

When you say a head kit, what is he changing ?
Could you ask if he'd be interested in rebuilding my head ? And if so, how much and approx how long he'd need it for ?
To be honest, I wouldn't be thinking about going for this until next Spring - but just want to check out cost so as to budget etc

The rev3+ head is already very good - you won't get much out of it. Unless you're searching for massive power and every hp counts.
What sort of mods have you already ? And around what power are you aiming for ?

Far cheaper and more effective to up the boost and run some engine/injector cleaner through it.
My 2c
Edit: how is your 2 now Paryan?
