OK this looks pretty cool in some ways but it could have gone very wrong if he wasn't able to keep driving!

I've done some river crossings in 4x4's and they are fun but made for it. Would never pull something like this in my 2!!!

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

WHAT A STUPID, SQUIRREL SHIT EATING, MORAN!

Is he insane? Whatever possessed him to take that chance? Could have ruined the engine very easily, if the air intake went under....end of.

Even at that, see the water coming out the doors near the end? Inside soaked, probably stained and stinking. Electronics damage anyone? Wet fuse boxes, shorts everywhere?

Dumb fooker!

Thats CRAZY ! I was told of an MR2 that went into the floods in Cork by accident and practically sailed tru a patch of water like in the video. All 4wheels were off the ground at 1 stage. The engine spluttered for days before clearing itself. Apparently the equal weight distribution of the car kept it level and away from the air intake?!? No front engined car would of survived Still wouldnt try it dow.

As Swagger says the air intake would be the biggest worry closely followed by the electronics. The one thing in an MR2's benefit is the height of the air intake that might save it. Still wouldn't risk it though

HAHA! Would have loved to see that! That is interesing, the balance bit. I wonder if that really would keep it floating level, makes sense in theory. I dont think there are any of us who would risk ours 2's just to find out. Guess we will never know for sure eh? Better off me finks!!

I've done this before.

However, it was by no means intentional. The floods in November 09 caused havoc down in Mayo and Galway. Coming from my parents house in Mayo going back down to Galway I accidently drove through a flood. A tractor infront of me had made a wake so it didn't look so bad. So of course I went for it.

At the deepest, the water was up to the side windows and windscreen. This was for approx 10 seconds. Lost my number plate, the spots popped out and got the carpets got wet. Nothing major.

Took it my mechanic straight away. He said if I was in any other car the engine would be dead.

So the moral of the story is, it can be done, but it certainly isn't advised.

You're a lucky boy Ozzy....

I can't understand how you kept going though. If that were me and I saw the water level coming up even to the sills, I would have either turned around or reversed back, I would never take that chance with my car. Very lucky and interesting what the mechanic said.
