I have to do this before I die. Basically, a company in Perth decided to buy a load of H1 Hummers, yep, the original military, version, the big, bad ass version, and strip the shit out of them, fit them with roll cages and 750HP V8 race engines and just BLAST THEM AROUND THE DESERT!! You can have bikes and choppers chase you shooting video and all...GOD this looks EPIC!!

we done something like that in Tunisia a few years ago. We had a 2 hours journey in MrT landcruisers into the Sahara desert. This was made even scarier but the complete lack of any concept of health & safety

My mate in work is heading out to Perth in a couple of weeks so I think I should mentioned this to him .... he could report back with some pics and/or video footage

I did that! From Souse out across the Sahara for three days and nights. We went as far as the Libyan border. That was the only thing on the whole holiday that I liked. HATED Tunisia.

I know what you mean about health and safety, just madness, but we managed to visit all the Star Wars sets, new and old, they used the same spot. The Tatooine village is still there, just gets covered and uncovered by sand every other day. Looks great from the middle, but walk around the back and its all just 2x4, chicken wire and plaster. Madness!

Yeah, sounds like the same trip all right. We were staying in Port el Kantauoi. We've been twice now (only on that trip once though), and quite like it. I personally prefer it to Turkey, as far as a cheap weather reliable holiday is concerned.

Spanky, you were only 15 mins away from where I stayed. Where you were is nice. Souse is the most disgusting place I have ever been in my life. I hated it and would never to back to Tunisia just because of that. Funny, I love Turkey and would be hard pushed to go anywhere else for a sun hol!

Yeah each to their own I suppose. Port El K. is pretty nice. The first hotel we stayed at was better than the second one. The first was Marhaba Palace. The barman remembered me 2 years later ... that's either good service or a sign that I drink too much
