Well we are pretty snowed in here alright. It's really powdery, I've been out playing with the kids but had to come in for a tea and defrost

Good call, only €800? I'm surprised all the little ones aren't going around on them
According to Met Eireann we're stuck with this cold weather for the foreseeable future, at least 8 days
I think we'll all be looking for ferrari sleighs by then

Hope the salt/sand gets to you soon!
I heard the ship docked yesterday and county councils should be able to spread it again soon.
I'm actually now considering buying a 'winter beater'

Yep sixty miles a day, in the jeep though(took two hours to travel 30 miles yesterday), and its fun when applicable, was doing rings with the Previa in the yard over the christmas, the kids loved it and want to learn how (doh).
What amazes me is the brillant drivers we have in this country regardless of conditions I have only had to pull three people out of ditchs so far this cold spell.
But I have now put the mockers on myself and will pay the price this evening by launching the jeep backward thru a ditch.

I'm working in rathfarnham and the place is completely white. Even the main roads, which had been fine, are treacherous now. If it keeps snowing then i get to go home soon, so fingers crossed
i have seen some lunatics aswell Ray, saw a guy crashed into a parked car, people doing 80 on an ungritted road but the worst is people doing 30-40km in housing estates where the roads are just pure ice. There'll be deaths if this weather keeps up

The thing that I find funny is people in work cant get in because of snow in there new golfs and other overpriced euro trash, yet i can make it in my 2. Ill prob hit a tree after posting this. The lough where i work was frozen out to about 50 meters. Heard on the news that were supposed to get the same weather for the next 2 weeks.

Last year we had savage snow and I was driving past new cars that were stuck.
I think MR with LSD is win win for snow
Hope I don't get stuck in the Scenic now

Sweet
LSD FTW and not the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds version. Would be a nice time to own a bodyshop these days, one of the girls that works for me crashed into the gate at work. Poor 530d didn't know what happened to it.

I wonder will all our insurance premiums go up to cover it all though?
Everywhere I turn there is another 'ice crash' story..

Was it on a hill? if so there was nothing you could do. If not, you should have been going slower (if that was possible)

^good work by that guy!
Apparrently we're due a huge snow fall on the east this weekend, I usually park the car on the street but I have her safely parked on the drive now so i can stop worrying that someone is going to crash into it I'm gonna get some cheap door mats to put over the engine lid and I reckon the car will be staying there for another month or so

I've a half cover, if you want ?
I've the full cover on mine - but had to leave it on the road as when I went to relase the handbrake, nothing. So, hopefully will thaw out .... _KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG

Where did you get your full cover Rob?
Really glad I have the car off the road now. A car crashed into a wall down the end of my road yesterday, and then tonight a van crashed into the lamp post right beside the wall, and apparrently there was a 3rd crash there aswell...

The full and half covers both came with the car when I bought it.
Wow - your road sounds a bit mad !

Cheers Rob but I wouldn't really take the risk of the trek over to you. Pretty darn snowy here at the moment...
I was driving carefully up a road yesterday (in the Scenic) with a lot of traffic banked up behind me. I was coming up to a roundabout and all was clear so kept the momentum going, all of a sudden a jackass in a 4wd came bounding on to the roundabout in front of me, I breaked but could not stop in time ABS kicked in and I was able to steer out of the way. The guy kept driving, flying off up the road like a lunatic. Goes to show that no matter how careful you drive it can sometimes be the other guy you have to watch out for. Very close shave.
Mark, sounds like you have a magnetic wall nearby
