Depends on your power goals. If you're looking at around 350-360Fwhp, then there are hybrid turbos - few companies in the UK which will do them. Fensport, AET turbos, Turbo Technics etc

Over that and the most popular are Garrett kits. But they're going to be pricier.

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

Actually, just reading a few dodgy reviews for Turbo Technics !

AET seem to get decent reviews but Fensport seem to be the safest bet - and they know their stuff.

Bargain for a big turbo on IMOC

Amazing deal, but wouldn't that need some serious support around it?

In my view, you would need the following "other upgrades" along with that turbo:

Aftermarket ECU
Forged internals
MASSIVE boot mount IC (specially to make room for the side screamer pipe)
Possibly uprated fuel rail and injectors, and then dual fuel pumps and swirl pot

I could be wrong, but can't see how you can support 600+hp without the above.

Not to be negative, but although the turbo kit itself is great value, there is a considerable amount of other kit and work required which is most likely well above and beyond what most people are willing or able to afford.

How about just going for an uprated side mount IC, like a Greddy or possibly an ST205 charge cooler and then swap out the stock tubby for a GT3071R or similar. Ok, still going to cost a few quid, but much more within reason and should throw you into the 300-350fwhp region.

A step further again would also be a stroker kit, ie, 2.2 liter with forged internals also with uprated turbo and IC. THis should kick it up over 400fwhp.

It's all down to budget and time. If your car is your only car and a daily driver, you can't exactly leave it in a workshop for two weeks, so whatever you decide, keep us posted anyway. If you do decide to do an upgrade, big or small, maybe run a thread on it, with pics and updates as they happen.

Best of luck with it all anyway Ozzy.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

Well, at the moment I have a greddy intercooler, uprated fuel pump, boost pressure regulator, boost controller already installed. I'm going for the nemesis ecu and remap by momentum.

Basically I just want a bigger than stock turbo, one I can reallt trust. Nothing too major as I really don't want to all the other work around the 600+ turbo.

I think Momentum do a Garret 3076 kit. That is a pretty decent turbo capable of a lot of power. Another option would be the 3071 which has faster spool at the cost of some top end. Depending on the boost you want to run, you might like to factor in a set of injectors also.

Looks like you are most of the way there then, all you really need right now is the turbo. Shouldn't be too costly or lenghty a process then. Check out your all your options then and let us know what you are going to run with.

It's possible to MAIL ORDER up to 700 whp for your car. Do you have any kind of power goal in mind?? ie.

* Smoke RX8's
* Embarass M3's / Porsches
* Punish modified Scoobies/Evo's
* Make Ferrari's wonder what that 'thing' is next to them
* Destroy Skylines/Supras

I wouldn't have thought there was much to smoking an rx8, suerly you would just wait for them to blow up or run out of petrol and oil!
