Hi All, Was due to buy a 98 mr2 this week but found out there was still finance owed on it, so deal broke down & im gutted, So now i'm searching again for a mint mr2, preferably non turbo with less than 70000miles, If anyone knows of a mate thinking of selling or has seen anything on the forecorts etc let me know. Make that 2 2s wanted! Been lookin at several ads but too busy to actually test any. Even if i could,cant decide which ones to look at!

Thanks, I'm from Naas, Kildare, So anywhere in dublin or on the N7 either direction would be a nice straight location for me to drive to. I'd say at a push a max 2 hour drive.

there is a 99 rev 5 on carzone that might be worth a look....

Well its missing a front fog light, so that will be worth investigating, but apart from that it looks ok from the picies..

I would be asking more about how and irish car was 99, considering toyota Ireland stopped importing them in 96 AFAIK. It may have been a toyota employee who owned it.

I thought the price was pretty good to be honest 5000 for 99, for comparison i paid 7000 for a 99 Turbo in simliar condition last April.

Even 7k for a 99 turbo is ridiculously cheap compared to what they cost in some countries. You're getting a hell of a car for not much money either way.

Thanks, He has the front fog back on, it was loose so he had it in the boot, I did a quick vehicle check on it and its defo turning up as Irish and not an import so i'll ask him a bit more about it on friday. I suppose 5,000 is ok considering he'll put it through the nct and it already has tax till next august

Well its a long story, i was buying the car for 12,000E 2 years previous, but the garage owner sold it to his brother in law on a Sunday instead, when i rang up with the cash on Monday to buy it after viewing it on Saturday, it was gone.
Anyway i kept looking and looking, for a rev5 GT Turbo Tbar, and it came back on the market, just 5k less, it was just after the arse had fallen out of the Irish car market. they do fetch a fortune in the UK, but over here it is really dependant on Yen/Euro and knowing how much you can import one yourself for at that time....

What do yis think of this cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1054699 I did a check on it, imported from the uk, the VRC seems to have been re-issued aswell, tax class was changed aswell(not sure what that really means) registered in ireland in march 09, and just passed the nct in November.

I always think Black MR2's look evil... it's up to you if you like evil or not

Will take 3500 if you want to sort the steering problem yourself. Otherwise it will be fixed in January and the price will be around 4k Not many rev3 turbos going for this price around.

hi,i am selling a 97 mr2,g-ltd model,its white,nct 02/10,standard bar an induction kit,around 90,000 miles,timing belt done 34000 kms ago.its a jap import,i am the only owner of this car in the country,only selling it due to a new baby 13 weeks ago.there is 10 photos of it put up on donedeal yesterday.i am looking 2999 for it.no marks or stone chips etc.it is 100 per cent,inside and out,no knocks or bangs.if the car is not what i say it is then i will refund you for any expense for coming to see it as it is in mallow,co.cork.
