Hi guys, got the car back from getting it chipped. Its missing again under load. The lads there told me it is not a fueling issue so i need a dizzy cap and rotor if anyone has them???? Other than that all i can think of is leads and coil.

Just to clarify when i put my foot down boost starts to climb and when i hit aound 4000 i get major hesitation. NOW earlier today some retard in a VW fox thought he could take the MR2 and i ran 1st&2nd to the line without any issues! Also i sprayed the dizzy with a silicone based spray and it improoved but didnt fix things!

Main point is does anyone out there have a dizzy???

Was it missing under load right before you brought it in to them? I know you had that problem at the dyno, but it does sound a bit strange that the problem turns up right after they work on your car..?

Assuming it's not that, I would get on to Toyota (or Fensport) and order a new rotor, cap, and leads. Another thing to check is to see if the magnets in your distributor are cracked. This is what a cracked magnet looks like:

Geoff the car was hesitating the odd time before but it would go away then come back. So i dont blame them for it. Obviously the track day i did before the dyno day has done something. just very eager to get it fixed now cos i wanna see what difference this chip will make.

I would check your magnets. Does not take that long to pull the dizzy out. Just remember to retime it when you put it back in.

For safetys sake i dropped it back into the lads who chipped it just in case!! Called me back in 30 mins and said the dizzy was burnt beyond anything he's seen before! Nice right so i asked him to keep it so i can get a pic! THat wold obviously be the first thing to change so ill get it back today knowing the fueling is spot on so the only other bits could possibly be leads or coil.

The dizzy was burnt???? do they mean the contacts in the dizzy cap?

I seen this on the highland run with TonyLaFrogs car, the center pin was gone and three of the four lead pickups were also gone. Check for wear on the dizzy rotor to ensure its running thtu and not elliptically.

Well lads burnt was not to be taken literally! 2 contacts were worn to nothing and the pin was worn down too! SO new rotor and cap, retimed and she's good so far. Heading out to the gf's house tonight in Blessington so will give it a good roast then!

Yeah egg on my face !!! I didnt want to admit i broke it!!!! I was convinced that it was bad fuel but obviously not! Well as an update the missing is still there! was gone for a the first blast on the M50, second on the N7 and then a slight miss on the N81. Got some space and in third hit 4000 and bah ba ba ba bahh so im gonna drop the boost to .8 to .9 bar and hope for the best other than that Leads and coil i suppose!!! I'll get to the bottom of it! I'm determined! I will WIN!!!!

Yeah it's persistence and time with these problems. I'm battling a cold start issue for the last 2 years
