Jus wondering what exactly it does.Dont know the make/model but could check, but how does it work?
Otherwise the car seems fine, jus passed the NCT.But if anyone in the Dublin 24/16 area has sum spare time to cast an experienced eye over it id be very greatful...

what make is it?it could have other minor functions too.a turbo timer basically is a device that allows you to leave the car running for a set amount of time when you park to leave the turbo cool down.usually about 30 seconds to a minute.if u park the car right after hard boosting its highly reccomended you use it.its either that or sit in your car for a minute with the engine running!so really it jus makes everyday driving more convenient.and its great watching the look on peoples faces when u get out and lock the car and it turns itself off

Turbo timers are ok, but I would recomend driving the last few miles of your journey off boost. This will allow the engine to cool much more effectively than just letting it run at idle for a minute especially after hard driving.

Hey Doc,

Mine had a turbo timer when I bought it but I took it out. I prefer the clean factory look in the interior and I use a similar principle to Clearsky. But each to his own.

Congrats on your 2!

If the weather is any way decent tomorrow we could meet up and have a chat over it. I'm in Dublin West and will be prepping my car for the NCT.

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

I see, so fairly pointless, but not useless.Think i'll leave it alone for now anywho...

Checked it out and its a Comtec BeTime 328,couldnt find much info on it on the web.Anyone know if it wud need an aerial?Theres sum kinda aerial inside the back window which i think is related but wud prefer not to go cable chasing to make sure.

Either way i agree with Clearskys cruise home idea, dont have much choice with all the speed bumps round me.

Oh,and sorry Quandry,I wud've loved to help u prep for the NCT,but didnt see ur post in time, and was workin anyway.

I assume u passed...

Also y'all think the timer could be the reason my turbo pressure gauge isnt working?

hmm doubtful, sometimes people disconnect those so they can get around 'boost cut'. There is a pressure sensor in the engine bay, check to see if the vacuum hose that goes to it has been blocked off.
