TOPIC: Dyno analog output?

Dyno analog output? 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 265
Anyone ever come across a dyno that can output an analog signal for logging purposes?

I've looked on the Dyno Dynamics web page but they don't say much. Spose I can check Dynopack and Mahle but thought I would ask here.

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

Found an interesting program while hunting around on Google:

www.dataloglab.com/

"Data Log Lab is a graphical analysis tool. It loads the data logs generated by various aftermarket car ECUs and enables rapid and meaningful analysis of the information that is hidden within them. It offers far more functionality than the manufacturers’ original software and access to it in a far easier way."

I'm going to try it - looks interesting! :woohoo:

I checked with TDP, they have a Dynapack dyno and say that it can output Tractive Effort on a 5v feed....

interesting...

If you're a log whore, ditch the PFC and buy an AEM.

There must be a thousand parameters you can log, and about 16 logging channels with plenty of internal memory.

They do the same basic things, but the AEM takes them all a lot more in depth - perhaps too in-depth if I'm honest - there are probably too many options and configurable parameters and options.

The PFC does seem to get good results in MR2's, thats for sure.

Obvious things off the top of my head that AEM does that aren't on PFC (As far as I remember)

- Good Knock control, with 2 (Or ,maybe more)knock sensor inputs
- 2 oxygen sensor inputs (wideband or narrowband) with good o2 feedback control
- traction control, antilag, launch control
- pretty decent automapping
- 4 x EGT input with trimming ability
- 10 individual ignition outputs
- 10 injector drivers
- shitloads of inputs and outputs (16 outputs, something like 7 or 8 inputs)
- nitrous control
- a mind boggling array of fuel and spark trims (Far too many in fact - it can get confusing)
- Good onboard logging memory, and good fast logging is configurable

PFC will do the trick if you're after an easy to set up system.

If you want more advanced features like above, then you'd need to look into the AEM etc - there are loads of them.

I use AEM, megasquirt, Emerald and VEMS

Might have a look at that too - looks pretty similar to AEMLog though. Only problem with AEM Log is you can only have 3 base traces, then unlimited overlays.
