TOPIC: Rota wheels?

Rota wheels? 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 265
Guys, true JDM wheels seem to be bloody expensive. Anyone got any opinions on Rota's?

It seems that they're cast not forged, but I would like a good set of rims and just don't have thousands upon thousands to send off just to do it.

Opinions?

Yeah, that was the image that was burned in my mind also. However I saw this post on dtdirl, where a guy with a 600whp GTR tracked the hell out of Rota's and then xrayed them:

Turned out perfect no problem!

Also seems that 'made in japan' rims can be damaged:

Rota d1's on a SW20. I don't particularly like the 3 piece look though..

Rota Wheels are awesome, and very very strong. Yes those pictures show damaged rota wheels but it doesnt say how it was caused. For the money you pay for the wheels.... they cant be beaten!!

5zigen FN01-RC's are a great lightweight wheel and Forged as well for reasonable money, Couture sell them. But when I went to get a set they wouldn't get me the different offsets and widths requested even for a premium. Maybe times have changed now though.

No opinion on rota's,no experience with them. Never seen a rim break except for crappy halford wheels I bought under long term serious abuse.
