This an EPIC TWELVE PART series, showing every single step of the process.

The most amazing thing is, all the fabrication work is just done on his driveway!?!

i appreciate the work that goes into these things but i'll never understand why people do it. for less work they could prob make their own unique mr2 kit and sell them to make a few quid rather than spending €€€€€'s on a replica build. Did you watch the whole show Steve?

I did yeah, its interesting to see it all go together. The first two clips are the longest, if I remember correctly. Some of them are only a few seconds long, like quick updates. Only takes about 15 mins or so to watch the lot.

I agree with Mark but if I had the time, money, tools, skills and space, id do for the craic. Just for the sake of the project and the fun and the end result.

Cheers Quandry, enjoy!

How cool would it be if a few of us were able to get together and do a project like this, as a club car/show car. We could do a whole thread on it, think how many other forums/clubs would be following the build and so on. The infamous MR2.ie project car.

In fairness, for something like that, it would be better to do a monster MR2 track car rather than a Ferrari, that kinda misses the point. So how cool would an mr2.ie track car be with the forum logo and web link all over it, plus all of our sponsors/suppliers logos who helped us out along the way. Am I getting carried away?

Thinking of the 550euro N/A...how much work/cost/effort would it take 5 or 6 of us to make a track car out of that?

Hmmmmmmmmm?

Here's my commentary:

Part 1:
wow huge amount of work!
Factory Rev1 steering wheel blows, thank god he changed it!
Calipers look silly, would have been better to go 4 pot brembo and paint them red.
Impressive looking door handle actuator at 2:41. Quite intricate, would hate to see how you get in if it fails though.
His wheels are massively tucked on the back, probably should have fitted the kit first then measured for the right rim. Despite that I think he will have problems with too much aft weight on the bearings.
Did he paint it red and then change his mind again?
Overall kit looks half decent - for a kit
The music sux!!

Part 2:
Music worse than in part 1!
I would have ditched the sunroof - but that's just me.
He's changing his wheels again?

Part 3:
Nice paint, very authentic looking - good job

Part 4:
God he has to get the skinnies off that thing!

Part 5:
Now it looks better but by the look of those wheels he has massive spacers

Part 6:
Was looking good until 0:29 but from that angle the nose looks a little weird...

Part 7:
Thank god he ditched the synth!
Headlights look a bit pink or something?

Part 8:
Getting there, lots of details to sort

Part 9:
Waste of time looking at this

Part 10:
Door handle seems to work nicely
Start button would have been better placed in the cigarette lighter socket
Engine sounds like a clapped out Rover!

Part 11:
Rear splitter needs to be painted
Engine sounds likes a Corsa 1.2 with a Remus exhaust.. maybe it's better at high RPM

Part 12:

OK it's pretty much impossible to 'replicate' the sound, otherwise by the look of the vids not a bad effort by the dude and took a heap of work.

here's the sound of the real deal:

For the record I am going off the sound of them a bit!
Hmm smokey and farty

Pretty comprehensive commentary Quandry, cant argue with it really, on any particular point. It looks pretty well as a finished result, but obviously up close, under the beautiful body, its a patchwork quilt. I cant imagine spacers can be bought that big, not could the bearings and links take the weight and strain pushed that far out. He must of had extended transaxle, if not, there will be trouble down the road for sure.

Ah, I think I would be more interested in the idea of an mr2.ie track car!
