I've never ben mad into conversions but for only about £13k plus a few grand for a V8, a few grand for brakes and suspension. I am guessing that a V8 would fit in due to the extra width - might just need a bit of cutting. Spaceframe would definitely allow a V8.

Say, £25k all in - that's still cheap for what you get.

Okay, you won't have same chassis and awd setup as the real thing but it would look amazing and with the V8 and being so light, it'd have genuine supercar performace.

If I tried to sell my Spider for 10k and then bought crappy donor MR2 for 1k and bought basic kit to get started - could add interior pack and V8 as more funds became available ...
