I think it works like this.
5SFE is a 2.2 wheezer of an engine from the stateside SW20. However I think it mates with the 3SGTE head and I assume with a change of compression ratios via the pistons you have a perfectly good 2.2 tubby engine in your 2.
Note to self , must check what engine is in the 2.2 carmys I think it might be the same one.

+1 Supposedly a 5sfe '98 Camry block is the strongest block you can get for a 3/5sgte..
There are other stroker kits for the 3sgte (including Tom's and Jun I believe) but you would be hard pressed to find one these days (like many genuine sw20 aftermarket parts). The 5sfe has a forged crank from the factory anyway apparently.
Yeah that's the one. That is Chris Bishops car. I met him in Texas this year. That was the car that snapped a camshaft on the dyno! (next run after this one)

ATS had new cams on the shelf and had him fixed up in a couple of hours...
Half of the sound is down to the cams, half is down to the Berk exhaust. I like the visual of the Berk but not sure about how it alters the tone that little bit.
Still I drove behind this car for a bit and it sounded good on the street so maybe it's just the mic pickup on the camera that makes it sound a bit tinney
Yeah I think he's up at around the 430whp mark and the cams are probably 40-50 of those hp. Reasonably cheap upgrade but they really come in to their own with an accompanying turbo upgrade. On a standard turbo they would be a bit of a waste. Seemed to just be a problem in the casting process on that one particular cam.... i.e. just bad luck.
