Howdy all,
After my bad experience with the turbo,im wondering if 2's are available with traction control. Not that the turbo caused it directly, but it didnt help, and due to my lack of experience and the current weather, optional traction control would be a welcome feature. Was that an option on 2's or is an aftermarket conversion possible?
I know its against the idea of the 2,but id like the option til i get used to one.
Cheers,
Dr.M.

There was a factory option traction control system for the MR2, yes. But its meant to be fairly useless. The ReceLogic traction control system is meant to be very good however. If you give Google a quick search I'm sure you'll find a few pages with info and prices.

Toyotas early traction control and ABS were quite poor, however as noted the Racelogic system gets alot of phrase, however the car would need to have ABS as the traction control uses the ABS teeth located on the drvie shaft to detect slip and therefore control it.
Some aftermarket ECU's have it built into them aswell.

As far as I know the Toyota traction control just cuts out the throttle temporarily which as you can imagine isn't the greatest way to do things...
