I ordered 4 Federal 595rsr's from eiretyres and they came in at €68 each delivered which I'm pretty happy with. Finally got them fitted on a spare set of alloys I got from Slipsliderg.
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
I fitted them to the car and took her for a quick spin to make sure there was no rubbing or anything. As expected they are fine and going from an 8" wheel to a 6.5" all round the steering feels lighter and no tyre stretching. Looking forward to the OTD on the 7th. I plan to either totally replace or rebuild the rear tie rods after that so I can get the alignment done properly. Maybe a full poly bush over the winter...
NCT booked for the 5th nov.

Stuck her through the NCT. She failed on an imbalance of the rear shocks, rear handbrake imbalance and handbrake level travel is too much.
I don't mind the first two but the handbrake level travel is stupid cause it rests on the first click.

Well if it rests on the first click then its the way it was made from factory, tell them to go to toyota if they are not happy the way the handbrake was designed...

Another years NCT on her today. 'Twas a retest, I sorted the rear suspension imbalance and a rear drivers side handbrake cable.(part number was BC3143. QH part)
She's all tucked up for the winter now.
I plan to change the gearbox oil and get a Fensport pulley fitted over the winter.

Wow it's been a year since I updated, I suppose the car took a back seat this year due to an extension and another baby, both crippling me financially! The car has been in for surgery recently. I got the bearings in the gearbox replaced due to a grumbling diff bearing, so he done them all while in there, also did a rear wheel bearing as that was shot. Got her back and took her for a long spin today and she is purring like a kitten!
Plans are to place a big order from Matrix Garage in the US for:-
- rear tie rods (because mine are completely seized)
- full poly engine mount kit (mine are bollixed)
- full Prothane bush kit (just because...
Then she'll go for a full setup and ready for next summers track season!

Its been a while....
The cars been in storage a long while now. I became aware of a very small leak coming in from the scuttle panel and down into the drivers foot well. I knew access was very difficult and was a full dash out job. I eventually got round to stripping it and got it repaired by a classic car restorer in Celbridge. Also got the sills waxoiled while he had it.
I still have to put the dash back in but that's straightforward enough.
I also ordered some goodies from the USA.

Got the dash back in yesterday without much fuss with some help from TurboD.
Just need to nag my mechanic to get the polybushings and tie rods in so I can get her aligned. I'll do the engine mount inserts in my own time.

Haven't updated here in a while!
Myself and the mr2 had a birthday in February, the most important one being she turned the magical 30!!!
The even better news is I collected her from the mechanic on Monday. I got the rear tie rods and full polybush kit fitted. The gear linkage cable was bust during the gearbox removal and rebuild so that was replaced. He put BG syncroshift oil in the box and a double flush of 10w40 engine oil cause she's been sitting up a while. 17km since the last NCT in sept to be exact. She needs a bit of tlc to clean her up and I've 4 fresh Rainsport 3's ordered.
Just as well because on the way home this happened:
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Hadn't noticed a puncture, and because the tyre is stretched a bit on the rim she popped off. Luckily I was doing about 5mph turning right at lights so zero damage done.
Nursed her home and put the track wheels and tyres on till I get the rainsports
_KUNENA_BBCODE_HIDEIMG
Also picked up this to replace the lidl jack I had....no comparison!

Good stuff Tsporter, seems to be a few of us getting the cars closer to road going condition. Looking forward to hearing the s/charger whine again.

New windscreen this weekend and distributor / rotor arm. Then in for the NCT, really not sure what to do next. Tax and insure it or sell it and invest money in the CS GT4. Really think I would get lots of satisfaction from driving it again, let's see how we get on.

Few updates seeing as Photobucket seems to be back working...
May 2017:
The Panda rolled over to 138k km's today. Failed the NCT on torn steering gaitor last week, so I got that replaced and got an alignment in Discount Tyres today. I have to say the service was excellent, I'll definitely be going back there. They adjusted everything, and she was an absolute joy to drive home.
Track tyres are on and and new front Yellowstuffs are in. I cannot wait for OTD next Friday. It's been way to long!
The crap homemade paint job that the previous owner is slowly shedding its skin like a snake and revealing the original mica blue... I'm definitely gonna go original again but predict that will be at least two years down the line.

June 17:
So I heard the sterling took a dive last night so I just placed an order for an oversized Crank pulley kit. Should see a nice increase in bhp/torque for just €225 parts.
I've to get the timing belt done soon so perfect time to fit it. Can't wait! The suspension is right where I want it now so time for some POWER!

October 17:
The mr2 got some major loving this week.
- Timing belt
- Oversized crank pulley
- Reconditioned the alternator
The crank pulley is a 175mm pulley from Fensport. It should increase the boost from 8psi to 13psi approx. This requires an Air Bypass Valve mod. I drove it back from the mechanic and did the mod this evening, looking forward to a blast in the morning to see the difference.
I still have a set of poly engine mounts to go in at some stage too when I get the time.
