I was tipping around the Internet and was having a look through Chris Bulen's MR2 page and found these interesting pics of a Audi V8 MK2 in Florida. This looks to be a similar recipe to what Paul Woods has done with his Audi V8 MK1....

If you're suffering from lag, you're either in the wrong gear or the wrong car!

That is lovely, is there a reason for the audi unit over cheaper lexus unit's, i presume there fairly compact for what they are (i should just use google, but there's a pizza coming and i need concentration for that )

I think the hard part is the north south transaxle. They use an Audi one that sits at the back of the car. Probably the availability of Lexus - Audi bellhousings is not that great so that's why they've gone audi. Another possibility would be to do the same thing with a WRX transaxle and leave off the 4wd rear drive, although mating a flat four transaxle to a V8 engine might be a bit of a task!

I wonder what transaxle the MCR8 had? was it a SARD custom unit?
