Scrapping my 95 N/A unless there is any objection 11 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 12
Hey guys,

I'm moving to UK at the end of October hopefully. My poor 2 has been sitting in the shed since January. I thought I was going to have her fixed while I was in the UK and then come back and get her but the cost is just too close to the price of a decent two in the UK.

The engine has a blown head gasket and a suspected waterpump missing its fins (causing the blown gasket). The engine is also half dismantled by a complete amature . I also found out that at some point in her history she had been written off in the UK before being imported here.

I will be taking the original air intake and the gear knob. (i like them original and these two things are often changed) but other than that I am scrapping her. There is a company "scrap my car" that are willing to collect her and give me cash for her. if anyone wants her you are welcome to her. will cost you 200 and you need collect her. There are plenty of good parts but I cant keep her in the shed any longer she is taking up too much space so wont break her myself.

So 200 quid and you collect her and she is yours.

LOL, was it a voice of reason that changed your mind or did she just go bananas when you mentioned buying another one.

Nah, I was rushing to a meeting, didn't want to miss out on the chance to save a 2. Then hindsight came to the front, I wouldn't mind Mrs said, why not!, when I got home.

But its still a no, need to get the track car finished, turbo car build is next years project.

Cheers John...I dont need it and the guy that was going to keep it just isn't interested now...so I'm going to strip her...she needs a bit of work anyway so I guess I'll have a nice supply of parts now

Seems to happen a lot, nobody is really prepared to work on them so they become financially scrap.

Revisting this...well finally got around to tow this back to the mates gaff from his mechanic and grabbed a few quick pieces off it.

Interestingly enough I pulled the dash clocks and noticed the oil warning bulb had been pulled!...now the engine itself dies of oil starvation, so I'm guessing the engine had some consumption problems before being sold to the last guy.

Food for thought!

No worries ... I was looking for the fogs as spare too, mine are working but I think that I'll have a job on my hands if I need to change a bulb, screws rusted to bits

The plastics that I am looking for are the trays under the bumper, they are fixed to the front lip and in 2 pieces ... left and right

I know the ones, it doesn't have them as far as I'm aware and nor does my own car either, think they only came on the turbos or certain models. I tried to get them before I think mr2ben on ebay has them but they don't come cheap!
