So my wife leaves for work at 07:30am this morning only to return 5 minutes later-her car has been stolen! she wakes me to tell me and to ask me for a lift to work. While im getting ready, she rings the Gardai and reports it missing. Turns out they have the the 3 fellas who nicked it in custody. Apparently they had rang 103.8fm at 1am to complain about the Garda helicopter that was following them through Sandyford! the Guards have the car in Kilmachinic and its got quite a few dents in it.

So we make our way down to the carpark so I can give my wife a lift to work, and as we approach my space-guess what-my mr2 is gone too! apparently a Clifford immobiliser doesnt do much to immobilise the car!

there must be several hundred cars parked in my appartment complex car park-what are the chances they take my car and my wifes!!

So who knows what state my car will turn up in, Its probably burned out or wrecked beyond repair.

To be honest, I had seriously been considering getting rid of the 2 as its too impractical and too expensive to run-my heart had been overruling my head on that one for some time but this may be the motivation I needed-still, I'd rather have made the choice myself than have some theiving scrote make it for me, but such is life.

a lot of robberys happening in my town now too and they never happen here my buddys car was burned out last night after the thieves couldn't start it.gaurds said it's the 5th one this week

Yea they must know each other quandry but whether they get caught or not wont benefit me in anyway+these type of fellas dont care anyway-the punishment (if any) is of no concern to them. I just cant get over the fact that both our cars were taken- the chance that two cars, among hundreds, get stolen and they are mine and my wifes is insane. they're not even parked beside each other!!

Where from man?

its been found just down the road. the driver side is all marked where they scraped it against a wall, the console is all ripped out with wires all overvthe shop and the driver side rear panel window is smashed. looks like they attempted either moved it so they could work on it or they attempted to bump start.

one of the geniuses who tried to rob it left an id card in the car!

apparently they had a go at 4-5 cars.

bit of advice lads- don't ever move into an apartment with an underground carpark thinking your car will be more secure. i live in stepaside and have had two motorbikes stolen and now the 2. have heard of loadsbof other robberies too, both cars and bikes.

your better off parking out on the road where it can be clearly seen.

my brothers CRX was stollen too for fun drive until petrol finish. drivers side window broken. that was few years ago. from apartment undergrand parking with cameras as far as i remember.

Good you get it back just they should pay for all repairs!

appreciate the thought dude but it looks like an economic write off. they gave me a value on the car and in fairness to the insurance company they did give me a fair market value price.

shame really, was a great car and it never let me down once.

Not so bad when you got a resnoable price for it but still a pitty to see a lovely two writen off. So time for a turbo ? Never mind oractical you have the rest of your life for that
