My visit to Joe O'Reilly MR2 Specialist (RIP) 11 Years, 10 Months ago

Today I took a little trip out to see Joe O'Reilly MR2 Specialist who operates out near Tuam, Co Galway. I was looking for a few items and Joe had them all. I even managed to pick up an MR2 UK Owners manual. Joe is great and has a wealth of knowledge and I am so lucky to have him only a short drive from Galway city.
I took a few photos so you may see something that you may like. I think there are a few cars in for repair/upgrade but some others have seen better days....

Saw the pics last night on Blackberry (can't see them now for some reason?)
Anyway great pics! CeramicPower your car looks cool! I love it.
KC'd
Edit: Shame we don't have someone like Joe over here on the east coast. It would be quite a drive from Dublin!

firstly it was engine out and every seal and gasket he can think of then a timning kit and full service, set of shocks, then on to the fun stuff! all i wanted at the start was a fuel cut defencer but now i'm getting FCD , electronic boost con, downpipe and a ported exhaust mani. hopefully these see me up to the 260 - 280 mark!

an update of where i'm at. car was all back together all gaskets and seals done (except for one which i'll get to) and all put back together. joe was driving it a couple of days to make sure everything was ok he noticed another leak from under the turbo somewhere thought it might be a turbo seal or pipe took the turbo off and the leak was from the HEAD GASKET so its back to the ramp to start all over again with an extra few hundred euros lumped on. he said its the first one he's seen leaking there and it would be my feckin 2

oh dear that's a shame man.... Make sure you put in a quality metal headgasket as they are the weekpoint on the Gen2 engine alright.
Was it a standard gasket and what boost are you running?

top of my head, rebuilt engine with all seals and gaskets, timing kit with pump and pulleys, set of bilstein shocks and lowering springs (which are for sale cause i didn't need them) decat, 2 new driveshafts, new clutch, fuel cut defender, electronic boost control, ported heat wrapped exhaust manifold, brass pipe above petrol tank was split, couple of plastic bits like wing liner and undertrays, service kit and all fluids and a few more things i'll let you know when i collect.
one question for yis. he said the boost controller is ready to be set up but must be done on a dyno when it gets mapped which is fair enough but i've asked here and read in a few places that the rev 2 ECU can't be mapped that either a standalone or piggyback is required but joe is 100% certain that these UCU's can be mapped. also i'v read that the ECU can learn anything up to 1 bar so if its .6 now turning it up to .9 shouldn't be a bother?
