I went throught the NCT today and although I passed I noticed that my emmissions were up slightly since last year. I have heard that Dipetane can lower the emmissions as well as increase your MPG.

Has anyone used it and noticed a difference?

Great stuff.. Always here people rave about it when it comes to nct. But will only reduce emmisions by so much.

I use dipethane in the road car, Jeep, MPV, and the oil tank. 30 euro of snake oil (5ltr) treats a whole oil fill and I am confident it has improved the boiler mpg.

On the car, however mpg will never improve, as it only gets driven harder, it does help the emissions though

Best thing to do for emissions is get a fuel pressure regulator and reduce the fuel pressure to a point just before you hear a difference in idling which is usually under 2 bar.
Works every time for me.
Normal fuel pressure is about 3 bar.
No emission reducing additives have ever worked for me.

Im thinking you may even be able to pass without a cat that way, ive yet to try it out.

Where is your car thread?
what bhp she putting out?
You can get it mapped for low emissions and save the file. ill get that done when im getting mine mapped and upload the low emission file before nct.
What year is your car?

I've tried it in the past, I've found it tough enough to get any 1994+ MR2 through emission tests if they have induction kits, upgraded exhausts etc
But if your car is 1993 or older, the allowances are very generous ... emission limit for CO is 3.5% and for HC is 1200 ppm if I recall
If yer not getting inside those tolerances ... diptaine ain't gonna fix it

On wife's diesel Picasso, Emissions were 9 and limit was 2.5.

Changed air filter, dipetane and drove it hard and was down to 0.73 : )

I don't know about mpg but as far as i know, Dipetane is basically supposed to give a better burn - and so any carbon build up should get removed. Then, the driving hard is to get it out.

My MR2 is a 1995 na model. It passed but I was told that it was close. Dipetane is available from the motor factors on the Tuam Road, Galway City beside the Ulster Bank branch if anyone in Galway is looking for it. I checked Halfords but they didn't have it.

I am thinking of getting it and running it for the summer as I don't do a lot of milage. I checked the NCT and I only did 2000kms in the last year!!!!!

Dipetane, the stuff is pure magic.
I use it in all my cars.

On my 2001 1.4 Corolla daily driver I get 42MPG on my 60 mile daily commute. I owe this to throwing in a bottle of dipetane every 4,000 miles or so.
50e gets me 320 miles.

I have used it to drastically lower emissions for the NCT also.
Combined with RedEx oil treatment once every while, it can make your car very smooth and economical to drive. :)
