Note from Admin - Users must register in advance and pm driver and car details to Spidey (Mondello need this for insurance). If you don't get your details in, in advance, you will be in the general car park and not at the MR2 stand in the Padock area.
Japfest 2009 is on at Mondello on Sept 6th. Anyone else going, iuts probably too late for this year to organise a stand but it would be a great idea for next year. Maybe i'll see a few of ye there anyways.
PS, great work on getting the site up and running, hopefully monthly meets will become more regulare and we'll get to know each other Also i know its very early but a intro section would be a good idea for people to say hello
Mark
MEETING POINTS
7:30 for whoever wants brekkie at LittleChef/TravelLodge
7:50 leaving LittleChef
8:05 at Liffey Valley (Liffey Valley Renault) (just off the roundabout).
See you all there

Nice one Mark,
Sounds like a plan, maybe we can arrange a time to meet up and head there in convoy?
Thanks for the compliments on the board, I added a site suggestions area and introductions so we'll all wait for you to be #1

Looks like the times are 10am-6pm.
How about meeting at 10:30 at TravelLodge - or at 10 for those that want to get brekkie
Have to see if we can get tickets at the gate or even a reduced rate for the MR2 "club"

maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&...amp;z=16&iwloc=E
I'm going to contact Mondello and see if we can get a discount for a club of 10+.
So, lets get the ord out and see how many 2's we can get for our first meet !!

I'm making no promises but I'd love to get to this. Never been to a proper "show" before so would be great to go as part of the MR2 club.

Tickets are 20 on the day or 15 booked in advance
www.mondello.ie/cat/cat6.htm
I've fired an email off to the organisers - might get a group discount rate or last time we went down as an 2 club, we had an area where we all lined up away from he general car park - looked well
I'll post up if I get any response from them

I'd love to head down to this but there would only be a snowballs chance in hell that I'd be up that early on a Sunday morning (especially if Ireland beat Cyprus on the Saturady night). Not to mention the Hurling Final being on the same day.
You can stick me down for next meet.

Okay folks
Mondello got back to me - no discount - 20 euro per driver and 10 euro per passenger.
But they can allocate us a Club stand/area. But they need numbers and car/driver details in advance.
So, I'll get the ball rolling on this one :

And I'm just checking with Mondello if we can put up a Gazebo and use portable BBQ's etc. If people want to volunteer to bring bits and pieces e.g. burgers/sausages, buns, sauces, soft drinks etc
I'll bring two portable BBQ's.
I think Slipslide has already shown his culinary skills on previous runs, so I reckon he may be the head chef

I have just posted this pic on the other site regarding my culinary skillzz, the only reason that my cooking seems any good is cause they all died :side: and couldn't complain
I don't know if I am around for this but will confirm in a couple of days. Will travel in the jeep as car is of the road ATM. I can follow at a distance if required comrade's

If we're having a bbq then maybe we could sell some and raise some money for the club
not sure how well that would go down with mondello though, just a thought

Well i've mentioned the bbq to a couple people and they all thought it was a great idea, i'll bring along a few burgers and sausages and whatever. I don't know what mondello would think, maybe let people make a donation if they want

Actually, they just got back to me and confirmed a few things :
Portable BBQ's allowed !! (I didn't specify gas/charcoal - neither did they !
Okay to put up a Gazebo - Ray - did you say you had a Gazebo or was that a huge Marquee ?
Not sure we'll be allowed to sell - there are always a few chipper vans there charging 3 euros for a tea etc !
And the link I posted earlier where you can get tickets for 15 euros if bought online in advance - this is for the public. We'll be in the paddock - so, 20 euros per car/driver and then 10 euros per passenger.

I left it very non-commital. Although, she will need the car and driver details in advance. So, people can PM them to me and I can just email them to her. We just need to tell them as we arrive we are with mr2.ie and pay the entry fee.
A week and a bit left - hopefully we can get the 10 or maybe more

Not sure ! if everyone who hasn't PM'd me with their name and reg, couldo so now. Then I'll mail them tomorrow and give them the 6 names/reg's and say I'll have the other 4 by mid next week or so.
She also asked if we were going to pay in advance or at the gate - I said we'd pay at the gate.
She's also looking to send out stickers - so, I'll get them sent to my address when I give the driver/car details.
