Okay So I'm putting together a Run for the 1st Anniversary with the help of my Partner to Drogheda's Boyne Valley Hotel. Meeting with other Cars such as the Lexus Soarer's and Honda S200's so far. This will start on the Sat (28th) with Buffet in the evening, overnight accomodation and Full Irish Breakfast in the Morning. All this For HALF the NORMAL PRICE!!!!!!
It works out at ONLY €50 per Person for evening Grub, accom and Breakfast! Personally I think this Is a GREAT price and if weather Permitting we'll have a BBQ put on for us on the Sunday for only a few Euro per Head.
I have gotten Positive feedback from a few I have already mentioned this to so get your name down early to avoid disappointment!!
Deposits can be given to me at any meets/mini-meets or just by Pm'ing me to come meet you somewhere!

Super value deal 50 quid. An evening buffet meal, accomodation and breakfast would normally cost at least 100 quid.

Come on - get your visas - plenty of time to book the date. You can't miss a birthday party

Claire - will they have enough rooms for the 28th ? Between 3 clubs, they could easily get 80+ ?

Lets make sure that we get our MR2 members in asap. So, LATEST date for deposits is 10th August. But if we can try get definite numbers much earlier and deposits earlier too.

Yeah, if we can just mention MR2.ie and get the same rate, it would be easiest option.

A deposit would consist of €15.00 to hold the room.

Claire I dont mean to be a party pooper but I just went online to do up a normal cost & your cost to show everyone how much they would save etc (great deal) but theres no rooms available for the 28th, do you know anyone down there that could have provisionally held them for us? Anyway i just did the saving based on the week before so:
A twin room is €99 per room which requires a 17.97 deposit, 49.50 each
Doesnt give dinner rate but normally about €30 a head
Breakfast: €10

So per head everyone is saving at least €40 to €50 quid which is great, I'd say there's some great scenery around asell for photo's

Thats cool, but a couple of more questions for you.

Why is a deposit needed. I normally book hotels with my c.c. and there is no charge until the contract is completed. Is the hotel having liquidity problems, and will it still be open by then?

Is this a replacement for the annivesary night that was previously discussed for Galway, and is everybody happy with that?

Hey Dave, Have No Fear, Rooms are Reserved under mr2.ie's Name, Minimum of 20 were held first thing this morning!

*Ray Deposit is Purely to Firm up Numbers, credit card bookings are welcome.

**Ray, I spoke with a few of the Guys last night and they seemed to think it was a Good Move for the Anniversary to go to Drogheda. Taking into Consideration the Great Deal on Offer as well as the shortened Trip for the NI club it seemed to tick all the Boxes as discussed with them in Mc D's last night. Some of them thought (me included) that the drive from up north to Galway would be too much for some and that numbers wouldn't be great from the NI club, this way it's less Travel for all.

And No Hotel is Booming, the Guy who Runs the Hotel is CAR MAD!!!! He is Dying to hold a Car show in the Hotel and thats where this all stemmed from!

looks like i'm going to have myself in the mr2 this monday finally getting insurance. so thinking myself and my girlfriend will go to this overnight meet. sounds like a good way to get to know some of the club and earn brownie points with herself by bringing her to a night away in a hotel.

just out of interest i turned 20 today.. am i the youngest here? also have work starting now but started driving the car this morning. over 100 miles so far. i dont think i'll be able to sleep unless im in it tonight

There are quite a few of us who sleep in our 2s. Or maybe thats those of us with kids - hiding and trying to get a bit of a snooze !

Personally I think MRob2 it's a matter of Preference and what you feel Comfortable with so take me for Example, I prefer to use "Aul Fella", "Old Timer", "Aul Lad" or just the Plain ol' sayin'....... State o' Ya!!
