Okay, over the last 6 months, I've found that the 80/20 rule applies to MR2.ie, like everything else.
No matter how many members we have, it will be a core group that keep it going and go to meets etc.
Some will join the core group, some will drift in and out.
And this is fine - people have different lives and they all don't fit in to our MR2.ie meets calendar.
When I thought about a Christmas meet, I thought maybe, for this time, its a little more about meeting the people - but of course also seeing the 2s. This worked in Athlone - was great craic meeting the people and we had some time in/looking at the 2s.
So, my suggestion for a Christmas night out is Dublin - easy to get to - tons of hotels (and cheaper than a lot of the rest of the country e.g. basic TravelLodge room only 27 euro each pps - twin room). Cheap transport in/out of city centre and good choice for meals, pubs etc.
Some may say that its not really a run - but I think we can have lots more runs in the nicer weather. Plus, we can have an on-spec run on the Sunday morning.
And, we've moaned for years and now we finally have about 5 or 6 good roads

So, getting to Dublin is relatively easy for most people. Most members would be within 2.5 hours max of Dublin. I know that to give up a weekend is a big commitment for some, especially with kids etc. So, having it in Dublin means that most people are only 2.5 hours MAX from Dublin - meaning peoplpe don't have to leave til about 2.30/3pm. So, people still have their Sat morning free for whatever commitments. And the same on the Sunday. If we go for a short spin and finish up around 1/2pm, people are still home for 4ish, leaving your Sunday evening free.
What do people reckon ?
