In response to the Carlingford run, I thought it would be a good idea to copy a post that I have just put up on MR2OC. It lists out what I hope to organise for the year.
We, like you guys, are planning a regular meet up on the first Sunday of each month. The idea behind this is that we can come to you or vice versa. Alternatively, each group could do their own thing if they wish.
So, forgive me if I step on any ones toes, but hopefully the following copy of the OC will give you an idea of what I am suggesting:
DRIVES
Sun 3rd January - nothing planned
Sun 7th February - MR2.ie event t.b.c.
Sun 7th March - Fermanagh Lakes afternoon tea
Sun 4th April - MR2.ie event t.b.c.
Thurs 15th – Mon 19th April Highlands Drive
Sun 2nd May - t.b.c.
Sun 6th June - 2nd Annual Antrim Coast Road and BBQ
Sun 4th July - Welsh Drive?? or MR2.ie event
Sun 1st August - Mournes, ards and lunch
Sun 5th September - MR2.ie event t.b.c.
Fri 10th – Mon 13th September Ireland Drive
Sun 3rd October - Lough Neagh
Sun 7th November - t.b.c.
Sun 5th December - Christmas lunch
OTHER EVENTS
February - on Friday 5th most likely - The post christmas blues boozy night out
More nights at the pub
Ice Karting - date t.b.c.
Ten pin bowling - date t.b.c.
Also, thought about trying to organise a Track Day and/or Dyno day
All members of MR2.ie are welcome to come to any of our meets, drives or nights out. The only condition is that, for the drives, we need to know numbers in advance to be notify the Police via the Parades Commission. We would also want to keep numbers to a manageable level for the more popular events.
My sugestion would be that those of you who haven't registered on MR2OC do so, to keep an eye on the events threads. You don't need to be a full member and so don't need to pay anything. I will try to keep our events updated on this site as well. I think you need to be registered for the links in the above to work.
@Spidey - I hope you don't mind, but I have taken the liberty of leaving some months for you to organise something good that some of us in 'the north' will come down for ... no pressure
