Car is OFF THE ROAD AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Driving the Car today and she started Blowing Cold Air through the Vents when she was up on High, Warmest Heat. The Temp Gauge hadn't been working since he re built the engine as he said he couldn't see where the Temp Sensor plugged into the engine and has said now that the Rad is Fucked, said its dead rusty and she was spilling out water and the bit of water left in it was all Brown (it had been burnt!)
Now its gonna take a new Rad ranging from €100-€400 new and check the pressure in that. Best Case Senario thats all it'll Take!!
Worst Case is I've Blown the Brand New Head Gasket only fitted last week at a Cost of €700. The Oil light was staying on and he says its a Faulty Switch as his suppliers were given a bad batch. It'll take 6-8 days to get them in again and if thats not all he's not 100% sure thats all it could be. It may very well be the Oil Pump at a Cost of €600 fitted!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure how much More I can take of this Car, I really Don't!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at Breaking Point at this Stage. If anyone has any Ideas PLEASE PLEASE CALL ME!!!!!

don't pay the shithead another penny, he f***ed up your rebuild so let him sort out his own mess. he shouldn't be taking apart an engine if he doesn't know how to put it back together and why is he fitting known faulty parts to your car? tbh I doubt the switch is faulty, it all sounds a bit fishy if you have a solicitor I'd seek some advise from them before dealing with the garage again

keep the faith, when you get it back working it'll all have been worth it

Bloody hell, sorry to hear that, I'm not sure but i got 2 or 3 boxes of parts with the car when i bought it and its quite possible I have a rad, i can have a look 2morrow for you if thats all you need, if i have one i'll take a photo

i got full engine rebuild for 1100 including labour and all parts were ordered from toyota. i got rad recored for 60 euro. that guy is def tryin to fuck you over get legal help, you payed for a service he didnt provide.

Yeah Jeez, that'd be great!!!!!!! He's looking for a Chasis Number so he can ring around tomorrow and price a Rad, he's tellin me that it could be anywhere between €100 to €400!!! Is he Fuckin' with me????!!! I feel so Torn, don't know if its just Darn Bad Luck or something Fishy, he's a Mate and its harder to get hot and heavy about all this with him!! I just hope I haven't damaged the Head again Now!!!!

He shouldn't have given the car back without a working temp sensor. It was working before he started on it, so it was his responsibility to put back together.

If there is damage, they should sort it - if you had your temp gauge working, you would have seen temps rising and stopped etc. So, it definitely seems to me that they are at fault.

Fingers crossed its just the rad.

Sorry to say it Claire but that guy sounds like an utter rip off merchant. I would recommend you get the biggest hard hitting relative to go 'request' your money back, and then take it to someone who knows what they're doing. Cheers Quandry, thankfully I have only paid him for all parts ordered and was due to pay him the rest on Friday when my wages went through!! I have another Mechanic Etching to get at the Car tomorrow so lets see what the new day brings!!!
I'm still hopeful about the Sunday run...... I guess Never say Never!!!!!!

whatever you do, friend or not, don't give that guy another penny. Judging from what paryan said, he's overcharged you for sub-par work, he's seems like a pure cowboy. Hope you get it sorted for sunday

if ya want ill ring my mechanic again for you. or better still drop down to him tommorrow for you k. ill have a look at your car for you if you like too...?

He's ripping u off big time by the very fact he's thinking the motor may need a new oil pump which should have been changed during the rebuild! All bits and bobs like that should be changed while the motor is out even if your timing the car that sould be done!

Question everything he's saying (about the rad especially) as these are problems experienced soley AFTER he'd had his hands on the car and could be trying to buy time or increase costs to you.

If its any use i experienced this in a cooper years ago where the thermostat was locked shut stopping the flow of coolant from engine to rad 20 euro later fixed the problem.

Hope all goes well and its a cheap (free) fix!

Whats Up Doc!!!!! Dyin to say that.........
The Rad was F***ked and the water was spewing out everywhere. It was either me with the Jet hose on Sat when I was washing her, a stone chip or him........ Either way I could have prevented further Damage or any Damage at all to the Brand new Head fitted last week had the Temp Gauge been working in the first place!!!
