Some of you may have already heard, but I was googling earlier and came across this.
Toyota showed a new MR2 concept car at the Tokyo car show, losely based on the MRS which finished production in 2007. Its not clear wether they will release it, apparantly they say they wont. However, Toyota have been spotted doing track testing on a heavily disguised sports car in Japan. From what I read, it should be a 3.3 ltr turbo with an electric bolt on (prius style economy and emmissions). Its claimed that it will do 0-60MPH in 4.5 seconds but is to be 2800 pounds (600 pounds heavier than the MRS) Who knows, maybe its for real, maybe not, but the idea, from Toyotas point of view is to be the first to have created an eco 2 seater, mid-engined sports car. It should do 60MPH!! Serious for a sports car.
