Now, THAT is interesting. Tesla where the first people to get the electric sports (maybe even super?>) car right. Having that progress and tech on board, Toyota may produce a new bench mark in the electric sports car world. Now im optimistic, this should be epic. Will find it hard to deal with only the slight whirr of a motor though. Im off now to find a electronic BOV simulator.
On another note, and being genuine here, not being smart, and also as a big BMW fan. If you watch that video in Rays link above, its amazing the difference in damage between the Lexus and the BMW. The BMW crumple zones were very effective and it looks far more intact than the front of the Lexus. Plus, I didnt see much in the way of airbags in the Lexus, but the inside of the BMW looks like its filled with foam, there is that many airbags inflated. I know being light, is being nimble and so on, but there is a lot to be said for weight and sheer strenght when in a crash. Its the difference between life and death, and as you can see, the two test drivers in the BMW, although seriously injured, are alive, whereas poor Naruse lost his life today.
Lastly, I think that LFA is coming along nicely. Quite Lamboesque! But I think the safety element needs work. I only see a steering wheel airbag vs the BMWs seat and pillar airbags as well as the s/w and dash. Plus, all the bits and pieces on the road are all from the LFA. A big price to pay for Fiberglass over metal.
