Spidey was telling me last night that the CT27 is really just the USDM version of the CT26 and that you are better off with the CT20B (REV1&2) has it has metal componants as opposed to ceramic, so tougher and steadier boost through the RPM range.

Sorry Swagger - I meant the ct27 isn't much of a gain over the ct20b. But that it is a decent upgrade from the ct26.

The ct20b has the cermaic and ct26 and ct27 have the steel shaft.

Going by there website its a good turbo but A Ct20b would be alot cheeper and a quicker turbo

Defo Ricky... i think its the way to fly. Guys i had a turbo technics turbo and it really was the business. I wouldnt stray from that for a ct27 from ATS to be honest. If your after some simple BHP without going into forged build, and head work etc etc, then id highly recommend it. Really cant beat the BB Garret range tho!!

The advantage of a CT27 is that it is direct bolt on for GenII 3sgte. If you have GenIII it's not direct bolt on, but you have a CT20b anyway so you don't care. The CT20b is not a direct bolt on for the GenII 3sgte.. I had one on mine but it was a hybrid CT20b that had a CT26 hotside and steel shaft/turbine.

There's a lot more GenII 3sgte's in the USA than GenIII's so that's why the CT27 is an appealing upgrade over there.

What did you do with your hybrid CT20B?
Any power gains over a regular CT20B or does it just allow you to run higher boost with more confidence?
