"Outraged Italian cops are to crush this stunning looking Ferrari - after discovering it was cobbled together in England from a Toyota MR2.

Police in Ostuni discovered the fake when they saw what they thought was a rare 355 Berlinetta in the bodyshop of a local garage.

But as they took a closer look they realised the pedigree supercar had far humbler British origins and confiscated it under Italy's copyright laws.

"It was a good fake but just a fake, Ferrari is one of Italy's crown jewels. We can't allow cheap copies," said one officer."

Still don't like the way they said "clapped out Toyota MR2" - it may be old but probably goes far better than an also old 348 Berlinetta !

I wonder would they also crush a 1977 Celica as it looked too much like the Ford Mustang of the era or maybe their Nazi approach only extends to Italian cars

I'd say the police in Japan should start to crush F348 and F355's - cheek of the Italians copying the mk2 MR2 !

i agree with them to be honest.imagine if they crushed all the 1.4 civics with type r badges and diesel bmw's with m3 stuck on there ass. I know im hardline here but i cant stand fakeness. but is it alright to copy trd kits????

Dam those Italians, they just dont know class when they see it, or just jealous,, italian styling with jap reliability what more can ya ask for, plus ive been in some mr2's and thed leave alot of Farrari's standing,, a moment silence for the poor 2 they destroyed,,,,
