I spotted this interesting article about a chap racing a factory standard Toyota Camry in the Targa Tasmania race.

He took a stage win against Porsche's and Lamborghini's and also achieved 8 litres of fuel per 100km!

Maybe Toyota do know what they are doing with the hybrid program...

Wow 8litres per 100km and that's in a race?!

i wonder is it modified because I didn't think they were that efficient

Pretty sure I read that it's only a new model out. Toyota is obviously innovating behind the scenes. One thing to remember is it was not 8l per 100k 'in a race', but 8l per 100k and they took a stage win over high performance cars.
