Pictures of new Carbon Bonnet fitted to my car. 1 Year, 5 Months ago Karma: 19
Hi all, here are a few photo's of carbon fibre bonnet which i just fitted to car. Happy enough with end result. Had to do a few modifications to it for rubber adjusters that screw inside it and for washer jets & piping as they wouldn't fit straight in without filing the holes a bit bigger. By the way im still selling the white bonnet that came off car if anyone is interested. Its in mint condition

I had the same problem over the last few days, cant explain it!

Sometimes the pics from your camera are too big to upload to the forum. You can resize them to fit.

If you havent already got it, download the Microsoft picture resizer tool here:
www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/po...oys/xppowertoys.mspx

After you install, just right click on a pic or pics for options to make smaller.
Might help.

That is the exact message I was getting the last few days, again, even though I knew they were the right size. Might be an issue with the forum software or something. Keep trying or else, have a go tomorrow and see if it works then.

upload the pics into photobucket and use the link codes. Its probably quicker than uploading them individually anyway plus doesn't take up server space.

If you dont have a photobucket account then use the MR2.ie one (originally setup for calender shots). Just make a folder with your user name

Checked yesterday in Icetronix, they have two left. Well only one really because there was a big huge sticker on one of them....didn't make sense, just had the following characters on it:

@ Steelheart: send your photos to dshamrock2000@yahoo.com and i'll post them up for you

@swagger: if i get the bonnet that will start a whole bloody scenario of: I must get my mirrors in carbon, spoiler in carbon, maybe engine cover or boot in carbon, i'd rather just buy a cheap mr2 out of the money i could potentially spend on my carbon pieces and drop it in a vat of carbon, hmm, not a bad idea actually

Cheers dshamrock, i just emailed them to you, Its going to take me a while to get used to the carbon bonnet look to be honest. The thing i really like about it is that it weights about a third of the original metal one. Lookswise im not sure though, i think i nearly preferred the white bonnet, aaah sure feck it if i end up not liking it ill stick back on the white metal original one and flog the carbon one!

I know what it is Steelheart, its the orange plastic. Seriously, before you make up your mind, try on a set of crystal front lenses. You can try mine on at the next meet. That will bring the car up a few years and make the CF bonnet sit pretty. Promise ya!

Ya liked mine enough to just go and buy this in the first place, why do you think that was? Because I have eliminated ALL orange from the front, doesn't work with the black, too much different colours going on. Ya know what I mean?

BTW, forgot to say, it looks really well (other than the lights of course! ). Fits great.

It should be fine, but down the road, consider a decent, neat set of pins. I got mine a few days ago, just to get a place that can do a nice job of fitting them. Id have a go myself, but dont fancy taking a drill to my bonnet, rather let a shop take the blame so if they do fook it up, they own me a new one!

Defo crystals, then carbon front splitter, carbon dipped mirrors & Carbon spoiler, would be well balanced then between balck & white, and possible the new engine hood that carben fibre is doing, yo already have the black wheels, would be perfect then, just my opinion coming from someone with a totally white car, wheels included etc

Hell YEAH! Really sharp looking!

I can see it with the crystals and it looks magic to me. Now of course, I am biased, anyone here that knows me will tell you what I am like with CF. I LOVE it!

But seriously, if you even want to try my lights, before you spend anymore money, you are more than welcome Fred, honestly, takes all of 5 mins to bang them on and that will make your mind up once and for all. For sure.

All good, and I agree would look very well, but even if that is more than you are in to, or willing to spend, even the bonnet alone will look much more at home once you sort the lights. Get the Crystals and then sort your toblerones, you are talking about getting the REV4+ front trims and LED side repeaters. With that done, you are sweet and take it from there!

I was never a big lover of carbon splitters or bootlids etc Dave although Id say mirrors would look well dipped alright. My next mod is definitly the crystal indicators alright. Your wheels suit your car dude. I always liked white wheels, i had a scooby wrx in white last year with wite wheels and it looked sweet!

OOOooooohh...a 99! Nice...

Great example for my point Dave!

Fred, pay attention to the lenses and side repeaters and notice the difference between that and yours. Whatever about the spoiler, most likely too big and showy for most people, but see how the bonnet actually suits the car with the clear lenses and side repeater?

Now!....nice huh?

Chill dude, yours looks well sweet, all you need is a nice neat pair of spats to bring the bumper down to flow into the skirts. Job done, sure you have the best part of a very rare and sought after kit as it is. A lot of people would love your skirts and spoiler! Leave it be, you know you love it!
